To wonder what your colleagues do that drive you insane?

My office is open plan and my colleagues are wonderful BUT there's this one person who eats nuts with the crispy edge. I don't know what they're called but they're so noisy to eat and to add, he's not the quietest eater at the best of times so the horrid crunch sound and then the wet eating sloppy sound drives me insane. It's at regular intervals of the day too! I take myself off for a long poo at these times when it gets too much!

Constantly moans about other colleagues. Tells me people have to make their own mind up about colleagues then goes on to say why each one is shit.

MouseTheDog · 24/11/2021 20:16

When my manager ends meetings with “Any questions?” They ask questions.

CaptainCarp · 24/11/2021 20:21

Won't put their hands up and admit a single mistake!
We all make errors but them trying to blame anything or anyone else drives me insane.

MostTacticalNameChange · 24/11/2021 20:23

@MouseTheDog

When my manager ends meetings with “Any questions?” They ask questions.
Guillotine offence.
Bootskates · 24/11/2021 20:24

Sends an email then immediately comes up right behind your chair to announce "I have just sent you an email...blah blah" every.time

Especially hard to get used to after wfh for so long.

soughsigh · 24/11/2021 20:25

Whistling.

Thankfully he is retired.

HaroldSteptoesHorse · 24/11/2021 20:28

They turn up late and then spend all day moaning! Wankers they truly are. I’ve stopped listening to their crap.

MintyGreenDream · 24/11/2021 20:29

@sammylady37 what accent has she got? That's bizarre

StarryNightSparkles · 24/11/2021 20:30

Slamming everything really loudly. I mean everything, doors, cupboards, tea cups the list is endless.

Aaarrrggghhhhh 🤯🤬

Marchingredsoldiers · 24/11/2021 20:33

My boss gets me to type for her. She even put her laptop in from of me to get me to do it once. Also gets me to handwrite figures on paper occasionally. It is so weird.

I thought she may have arthritis (sp?) in her hands. Buy she regularly types and writes when I'm not around.

fishewoes · 24/11/2021 20:40

He pronounces every other word wrong.
"Ok so you are bringing back the black tun-nic top, exchanging the sateen blouse, and you want to buy some more dulux (deluxe) wrapping paper"
Gives me the rage.

reallysaying · 24/11/2021 20:41

One who never admits when she has made a mistake, blaming others all the time.

Plus she is so high and mighty when you ask her how to do something once in a blue moon. Whilst the rest of us would say, yes, that's hard to find or understand a brain freeze, she just responds that it's so obvious (duh).

Plus her only topic of conversation is herself, she can talk for hours without asking a single question of the other person.

MrsDThomas · 24/11/2021 20:46

One will waltz in at 10 (flexi but she is in debit and we really are busy and others make the effort to come early on certain days -finance reasons), sit down, file her fake nails, be on her phone. Tells everyone her problems (i really dont care about them as it tends to be the same one), complains shes tired. FFS you have only just walked in!
She really is clueless on how to behave at work snd leave personal stuff at home,

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 24/11/2021 20:47

One of my colleagues is one of those who likes everyone to know when she has a cold. She mentions it constantly throughout the day in a comedy-worthy "blocked nose" voice, accompanied by loud sniffs and groans.

It then moves onto the coughing stage - she coughs over everyone and everything but does she stop smoking? ......of course not. Hmm

The only person who gives her any sympathy is our boss who fusses around her, tells her that she should take it easy and make a doctors appointment, offers to give her a lift there etc. The boss seems to be oblivious to the whole drama queen performance. The rest of us get a cold and just get on with it without mentioning it every 2 minutes.

Dacquoise · 24/11/2021 20:55

Reads your emails and then asks questions about them as if he hasn't read them, shouts questions/instructions to you from another room rather than get up to speak to you, tells you what to say when you're on a phone call because he's been listening in, tells you what to write in your emails to the most straightforward trivial issues that you are perfectly capable of dealing with, gets so worked up about everything that his voice becomes a loud monologue with flapping arm movements to match.

I am taking early retirement four weeks from today.Grin

Moretodo · 24/11/2021 21:08

Asks questions, and when you respond talks over you.

Distracts, pulls every discussion at every meeting off topic by talking over the speaker and personalises it.

Butts into discussions and talks over whoever is giving information, takes us all on an inane detour.
Have to then request information from speaker.

As others have said, constant chatter/reporting... "oh I've got a cough, I'm tired, I'm hungry, it's cold, I need some new winter boots" but will interrupt to deliver this reporting and.... Talk over people.

Almondbiscuit · 24/11/2021 21:08

Ignore emails
Witholding critical information
Entitled behaviour- best seat, desk etc
Always late
Reclaims holiday taken for dubious reasons
If doesnt like something goes off sick on a weekly basis

FindingMeno · 24/11/2021 21:11

Wants to know too much about my life and what I'm doing at the weekend etc.
I know she's just trying to be nice but I want to keep my non- work approved shenanigans to myself and have to keep fibbing Shock

Mum0509 · 24/11/2021 21:14

Asking you to do this URGENTLY but then insisting you attend a pointless meeting, thereby giving you no time to do it. Then complaining you didn't do it fast enough, when they were at the same meeting, followed by sulking and bitching for several weeks.

KatherineofGaunt · 24/11/2021 21:15

Just being in the small office room where my desk is in the morning when I arrive and try to talk to me. I am not a morning person and just want to drink my tea in peace so I can gradually become more human. I just need ten minutes but they're always there, no more than 2m from my desk, along how my weekend was, at 8am.

cheeseislife8 · 24/11/2021 21:16

Whistling. Oh. My. God.

MissMogwai · 24/11/2021 21:20

@MouseTheDog

When my manager ends meetings with “Any questions?” They ask questions.
Especially if the questions were answered within the meeting, and they just weren't listening. ☠️
rainyskylight · 24/11/2021 21:21

Po-hay-hoes I want to stab something just reading that

Orangesox · 24/11/2021 21:22

Does a colleague who doesn’t do any meaningful fucking work, nor even try to cover up her lazy incompetence count? I don’t know what’s worse, the fact it drives me mad, the fact she constantly goes on about how “busy” she is, the fact she’s actually a very close relative of mine and my complete peer so I 100% know that she’s doing very little, or the fact that she’s got such a grandiose delusion about herself that she thinks she’s untouchable and also incomparable Angry

Alloftheboys · 24/11/2021 21:28

Does the absolute bare minimum. Leaves the physical work to everyone else. When she’s forced to do some of the heavy lifting she does it wrong and me and another colleague have to fix it.
I’m undecided if she’s really really thick or does it on purpose to get out of doing the things she doesn’t want to do. 😡
