It's ridiculous. I've developed a ridiculous crush on him Blush

I don't know how it started... now, I'm like an obsessed teenager, watching all his films, collecting images...

Please tell me I'm not the only one with an absurd celebrity crush!

He's lovely but I read that he doesn't shower every day and that puts me off. I like 'em extremely clean 😂.

I'm sure he doesn't smell. It may not even be true!

As for Paul Rudd, I want to live with him and follow his diet and beauty routine. He doesn't age! He almost looks the same as he did in Clueless. What the hell does he do? Plus he seems awesome. Has anyone seen the "stoned" interview of him and Jason Segel on YouTube? So funny.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 10:51
@Battygirll Just looked it up too.Grin He's actually taller than I expected. 5'11 is about average or above average for a man. I wouldn't call it short.

Actually, seeing as there aren't that many six-footer+ actors about, I think he's tall for Hollywood.
an actor's official height is never their real height.

5'11" is probably more like 5' 7"

Pedalpushers · 12/11/2021 10:52

I've always thought he was quite fit, but I'm also happily listening to the new 10 minute version of All Too Well where he is getting shreddedddd.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 10:53

What guy in their right mind would go out with Swift? She's just going to mine the relationship for whatever sad little ballads she's planning next.

BusySittingDown · 12/11/2021 10:55

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches yes me too. I can't have a crush knowing full well that I'll NEVER have a chance. Grin I can still appreciate their beauty and like them but the crush disappears.

I used to have a little crush on the guy who plays Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls. As soon as I realised he was gay - gone.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 11:03

Yes, @BusySittingDown, my ego has to know I have a chance even if it's only an infinitesimal chance!

Battygirll · 12/11/2021 11:06

Oh dear Lord...

To have a crush on Jake Gyllenhaal?

Same!!!

It's nearly brought me to tears, God knows how he must feel

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 11:21

@Maverickess

He's ok, wouldn't turn him down for a date or anything 🤣 I regularly get little celebrity crushes, current one is Benedict Cumberbatch - I am rewatching Sherlock and can't believe I didn't see it before! Lot's of his films etc coming up after this if anyone's got any recommendations 🙂
Benedict Cumberbatch being a sex symbol will befuddle me until my dying day.

Listening to it now! I've never really liked TS's music (she's really talented, just not my thing) but this song reminds me of the shortest and most painful love affair I had which was when I was about her age Sad

You clearly don't know much about her and quite frankly your misogyny is showing. Nobody pulls men up on albums they write about women do they?

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 19:12

It's true though. She does use all her 'relationships' as inspiration and anyone who goes out with her knows there's a good possibility they'll end up in a song. And all her devoted fans will rush to identify the subject.

Sorry that upsets you.

Just interested, do you feel the same about Adele writing her recent song Easy On Me, about her divorce and the potential impact on her child? If not, I call snobbery in addition to misogyny.

For generations songwriters have pulled on personal experience in their craft, and no-one is vilified for it like Taylor is.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 19:47

Of course it's the same with Adele but Taylor Swift is the one mentioned in the thread...hence my comment.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 12/11/2021 19:51

Also, explain the 'snobbery' thing. They're both MOR singers, one working class (Adele) one not (Swift). Is it snobbish because I hadn't mentioned Adele, or snobbish because I hadn't listed all MOR singers?

Battygirll · 12/11/2021 20:34

I have never listened to a TS song before.

I have to say, I am jellybags of her I feel bad for her.

OP posts:
BusySittingDown · 12/11/2021 20:37

Tbh, if I was a bloke I would date TS in the HOPE that she would write a song about me. Gets people talking!

I actually do love Taylor Swift ❤️.

adrianmolesmole · 12/11/2021 20:41

@MaxNormal

I've been getting a lot of these recently, I think its related to peri. Not Jakey Boy though, all yours Grin
this is me too! I think peri-related for sure. Over the past few months I've been obsessed with Mark Ruffalo, then Jason Momoa, and now Robert Pattinson! Watching R-Patz's movies on Netflix like mad woman Grin NOT Twilight though!
MaxNormal · 12/11/2021 20:48

@adrianmolesmole I was always very age appropriate as well! Now I'm suddenly salivating over 20 somethings.

All I've watched over the last few months is Italian gang stuff and apparently I find nothing more attractive now than a violent drug dealer 😂

Silversun83 · 12/11/2021 20:59

You can keep JG, but YANBU for the celebrity crush.

I regularly have these, which are predominantly related to whichever box set I'm currently obsessed with. Much worse when I'm coming up to ovulation.

Was madly in love with Hugh Dancy or rather, Will Graham for quite a while. Currently crushing on Matthew Rhys Grin

adrianmolesmole · 12/11/2021 21:52

MaxNormal: Watch the film Good Time with RP playing a bank robber on Netflix. It's really gritty and emotional. I swear you will be falling in love with him too Wink

Battygirll · 13/11/2021 01:11

The fact I am menopausal is probably relevant...

OP posts:
MaxNormal · 13/11/2021 05:42

@adrianmolesmole I will do, I'll report back if I'm similarly affected or not lol.

@Battygirll I really think that does it. I've not had random celeb crushes since my teens, thought they were long outgrown.

Battygirll · 13/11/2021 05:53

@MaxNormal

I had a huge crush on Ian McKellen when I was about sixteen! I still love him!

The menopause has weird symptoms. I haven't had a crush like my JG one for years.

I've spent hours watching You Tube.

I'm genuinely quite upset after watching Brokeback Mountain - such a very sad film!

OP posts:
MaxNormal · 13/11/2021 06:01

Wow @Battygirll that's a longstanding crush. I really don't think I fancy any of my erstwhile ones any more... Axel Rose lol.

It can be a bit overwhelming for me, like constantly on youtube or social media looking for pictures till it took up most if my day and living in a daydream. Makes me feel a bit like a creepy lunatic!

Think its a combo of hormones and stress and my brain just escaping the real world as best it can. I totally sympathise, can imagine that you're for real upset after watching Brokeback Mountain.
