Friend getting married in secret….I’ve found out.

A good friend is getting married next week, they’re very introverted. Her DH has a large family so they’re just celebrating with family and potentially other friends but not me.

This is fine, I totally respect their decision to keep it quiet & small as they’ve not told me about it. But between what they’ve said and one of their family members closely hinting, I’ve worked out what’s happening.

I think I should keep quiet until they tell me in they’re own time shouldn’t I ?

at least consider saying to the hinter that you think he needs to put a sock in it. In a tactful way obv.

Why didn't you just say 'Congratulations!'

If I had my time again I would have had the same wedding as your friend. Sounds heavenly. I'm also an introvert and hate attention. If my friends wanted to get married in secret and I found out, then of course I'd stay quiet, to respect their wishes.

I'd stay well out of it.

If blabbermouth relative is spreading the word then the bride may find out from someone else; if blabbermouth has only told you then it doesn't matter.

Why didn't you just say 'Congratulations!'
