To think the weather couldn't be any worse for Halloween tonight

I'm in the North West and we have torrential rain and wind at the moment. It's not forecast to stop raining until tomorrow lunchtime and we now have a weather warning in place.
Feel a bit bad for the kids but they are going to be drowned rats and freezing within 20mins going out trick or treating.

Anyone else having bad weather tonight?

It's horrendous here in Wales. Very strong Wind and rain. I feel for all the kids, i'm praying there's a break, so we can just pop to a few houses down the street but I'm not sure if we will. Kids are so disappointed.

FourTeaFallOut · 31/10/2021 17:14

We had shocking weather this morning but it's just a bit of on-off drizzle now.

ParkheadParadise · 31/10/2021 17:15

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches

Perfect Halloween weather in Glasgow.
Hope it stays that way.
Wintersonata · 31/10/2021 17:17

@catgirl1976

It's awful. I've just tried to back out of a spooky ghost trail in the woods thing at a local stately home but everyone else is "yaay it's only a bit or rain"

So I'm going

Think how good you’ll feel when you get home to a nice warm house! Grin

It's dry but windy here, DC are having Halloween party so at least we aren't going out. No trick or treaters yet and the pumpkin has blown out, I've lit a lantern in the window so we look festive !!!

It is great isn't it. Perhaps it would put an end to the nonsense.
NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 31/10/2021 17:19

In South Wales the wind is literally howling here right now (and rain).
Still had 3 families knocking on my door though the past 30 minutes so it hasn't seemed to deter them lol.

catgirl1976 · 31/10/2021 17:19

@Wintersonata I suppose there is that. And I've made a lasagne which will be ready when I get back. Not much lasagne a glass of wine and a hot bath can't fix :)

ArthurApples · 31/10/2021 17:21

Same terrible stormy weather here, just had a load of kids knock on in full costumes and umbrellas!

Sounds good! The weather here is chilly but dry and I hope we get a few trick or treaters (otherwise I’ll eat all the sweeties)

I’m in the Highlands and it’s been pouring all day. We do Halloween on the Saturday if it falls on a Sunday here so I’m glad mine aren’t going out tonight it was lovely here last night.

CharlotteRose90 · 31/10/2021 17:27

I’m in the northwest too in Manchester and it’s torrential rain here. I won’t be opening any doors sorry. Feel sorry for any kids that go out in it .

0palescent · 31/10/2021 17:28

It's dry here now (nearish Glasgow) just cold, with a damp ground. It's been torrential for days right enough, I was hoping it'd continue!

Anotherdayanotherpark2020 · 31/10/2021 17:29

Scary in Northamptonshire today- we got trapped by what I'm sure was a tornado. Have since seen they claimed one went through Althorp which ties in with where we were- 10 mins away. My son said he saw a swirly grey thing but i was pretty distracted with the littlest. Sideways high speed wind out of nowhere- was no wind just drizzly rain when we set out( thought it was a gust at first but kept on going). Blew a tree down right in front of our car, we turned round and saw 2 more fall :-(. Terrifying. Next thing all gone, 2 rainbows and blue sky. Then discovered a route out on a farm track which we hadn't spotted in the commotion. Feeling very lucky tonight.

PinkForgetMeNot · 31/10/2021 17:30

I'm just outside South London and the weather is dry now, but this morning it rained so hard some houses were flooded locally when cars sped through the flooding and caused the water to surge into houses.

Georgyporky · 31/10/2021 17:36

At least the rain will wash away the eggs & flour thrown by the nasty bastards tricksters.

LadyCatStark · 31/10/2021 17:43

We’re in the north west too so it’s the same for us. Our pumpkins are still going though and we’ve had 4 groups of trick or treaters so far. My own DS seems to have featured in 2 of them though 🤔.

redfairy · 31/10/2021 17:44

I've been on a pumpkin trail near Kidderminster today and despite a very soggy start we had some very decent weather. Poor Northamptonshire have indeed had a tornado though and I've heard some serious damage has been done.

LadyCatStark · 31/10/2021 17:44

Oh and everyone has only taken one thing and all have said thank you too.

Glad you are safe @Anotherdayanotherpark2020. I saw it reported on the BBC about an hour ago. I was in the middle of a tornado in Slovenia years ago. Came out of no where. Really shook me up. Have a Wine

It might be good, to have some inclement weather, to stop people traipsing around the streets knocking on doors. ! But it's not too bad where I live, just windy, and a bit chilly, but won't be answering my door anyway. !

Daisy829 · 31/10/2021 17:47

Yep. Manchester here. We’ve done half an hour and have now come back to warm up. It’s grim out there!

feellikeanalien · 31/10/2021 17:56

Dry but a bit cold in Northumberland.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/10/2021 18:01

LED candles here - safer , don't blow out or endanger us if the pesky cats knock them flying .

Black Cats ( obviously getting in on the act ) Halloween Grin

SpindleWorl · 31/10/2021 18:02

It's just started blowing a wet hoolie here again.

Some twat's been letting really loud fireworks off in their garden for bloody ages which just guarantees a few more people won't open their doors if they've got pets, tbh.

So what with grabby parents snatching huge handfuls of sweets for their children, bloody fireworks, the weather and covid, I'm not really feeling it this year.

We'll do some hotdogs and have a rant about James VI and I on November 5th instead. He was a very interesting King.
