I know there was a huuuuge thread a couple of months ago but I'll see your George Micheal and offer you this lovely lad
(as he was in the 80s)

The most erotic voice ever
Even more than Freddie !

To think sometimes that only George

He was and is brilliant. Wonderful voice. He is the person whose early death I feel most sad about. Should have had many more years. December Song is a fantastic and underplayed Christmas song too. For anyone who doesn't know it, give it a listen:

@Dumbledoresgirl

I'm a Freddie fan too, but George's version of Somebody to Love is actually as good as Freddie's, which is a miracle in itself. I have never been a fan of Wham and GM as such, but I admire his voice and his talent and, for some reason, I found his death, alone on Christmas Day, utterly haunting.
He was the only one who could actually sing a queen song that day. His voice was just amazing.

@Maestoso

I think he was a poet. Beautiful lyrics.
I agree.

I’ve got Don’t let the sun go down on me on now. I know Elton John wrote that but George’s voice on it gives me goosebumps. There’s no comparison between his voice and Elton’s.

The other one I love is the duet with Aretha Franklin. What a combination.

Are there any other George duets I’m forgetting?

I have been a massive GM fan since a kid. Whenever I hear a song I always feel sad at his passing and the only death of a famous person that I still feel sad about (we'll and Caroline Flack).
I've been listening to Cowboys and Angels a lot recently. Beautiful song as are most of his ballads to be fair.

Gosh. I’d forgotten about I can’t make you love me. What a song and voice.

HappyBirthdayMrPresident · 07/11/2021 15:30

I honestly think some of his song lyrics were such poetry 'you kissed my eyes with angel wings' beautiful

Agree he was amazing. Lovely songs. Sad he was so young.

HeidiHaus · 07/11/2021 19:07

I grew up in the 80s/90s and completely failed to appreciate how beautiful his voice was at the time.
Heard 'A Different Corner' on the radio the other day and it took my breath away. Just beautiful. I still struggle to believe he is dead. Sad
