Supermarkets putting all their Halloween stuff away already to make room for Christmas stuff, ffs wait a few more days.
Things being on the sky box downstairs but not on IPlayer upstairs.
Work.

What are yours?

Thank you @Theunamedcat. No, they didn't have any GF flour. Haven't been able to get any at all in any supermarket I've been in since I found out that this is now my life.

I assume your suggestion would work with dairy free yoghurt? As I already lost half the bloody supermarket having to avoid that for the last eight years. Can't even do sodding GF oats.

I'M HUNGRY!!!!!

Suppose the half packet of stupidly expensive Brazil nuts and an apple that have comprised my entire food intake for the day should be a positive - I'm not yet allergic to nuts and seeds. I just don't particularly like the things.

DP, of course, is free to eat whatever he wants. Which I don't begrudge him, as long as he doesn't cross contaminate and poison me. Which has definitely happened previously.

I'm going to bed now. Probably to not be able to sleep and for DP to show up instantly to start snoring within 3.4 minutes and then stay in bed until gone midday because he doesn't start his new job until the end of November, so doesn't see the point in getting up. That REALLY gets on my tits.

It's obvious I'm hungry and premenstrual, isn't it?

Diversion · 27/10/2021 23:10

@ScreamingMeMeSawUs One of my colleagues started her usual putting lines from Christmas songs and doodles of holly, snowmen, Santa etc on my slot in the diary each day from June knowing full well it is not my favourite time of year. Thank god the colleague who started the "sleeps" countdown on the whiteboard in September each year has now left

cozycat1 · 27/10/2021 23:11

Work,.more spefically wfh still, and Teams meetings.
The weather-constant rain and grey skies

Thedogscollar · 27/10/2021 23:11

The birds who constantly shit all over my car even all over the drivers door handle. They must aim for it to get that angle.
The utterly useless budget that was produced today. Can't say I was expecting anything great from this shower 😫

It should work its fairly bomb proof just watch your soya content im sensitive to that too my doctor isn't suprised he was like ahh yes it can happen I'm looking like fuck you and your working intestinal tract I was fortunate my dairy intolerance only lasted 12 months but gluten free is forever apparently

If you can't find yoghurt one egg and dairy free milk till it makes a sticky dough works too it needs to be a bit sticky because gluten free flour absorbs so much more liquid than the regular flour

Lezbehonest · 27/10/2021 23:43

DP has just tested positive which means we have to cancel our lovely weekend plans. Giving the tickets to a friend so they aren't going to waste but I'm sad.

Also means I can't go to the office tomorrow (I know legally I can as I'm still negative but feels morally not right) which will make briefing/meetings trickier tomorrow.

I've been on my period in massive pain all day and I'm freezing because all the windows are open. Also I'm so fat and I can't fucking stop eating.

Ffssssssss

nextdoorslawnmower · 27/10/2021 23:44

Being exhausted and never getting enough sleep. Because 1. Kids and 2. Bloody next doors lights shining into my room.

Halloween and Christmas shite being in the supermarkets at the same time. Pick one! Which are we celebrating? Christmas is ages away!!

nextdoorslawnmower · 27/10/2021 23:45

Also doing intermittent fasting and eating low carb and still not losing weight. Destined to be fat forever.

nextdoorslawnmower · 27/10/2021 23:47

@Cherrysoup

Persistent headache, it’s new, lft says I’m negative, multiple times. So why do I have a mega painful headache every other day?

Stupid fucking covid, half of my poor family are positive, I was meant to drive up to see them today, so half term plans have drastically changed.

I’m several years off (very early) retirement but keep seeing amazing properties. I’m wishing my life away, which I know is awful of me, so I’m really annoyed at myself.

I’m horribly fat which exacerbates an old injury. Why can’t I just sort myself out like I did before? If I’m not careful, I’m going to end up in a wheelchair and be a fucking burden to my DH. 😢

Thank you, OP, for posting this, I really needed the rant!

Try taking 900mg aspirin when you feel the headache come on.
tedsletterofthelaw · 27/10/2021 23:55

Being ill
Having to constantly pick up shit all day as kids are on half term (whilst being ill)
Work (whilst ill)
Waiting for PCR results so I can see a bloody GP about being ill

MrsTxx · 27/10/2021 23:55

Work.
Stupid bloody customers at work

MrsSiba · 28/10/2021 00:12

I've taken annual leave to spend time with the kids but I'm behind at work and it's making me feel too stressed to enjoy my time off. Trying to get some work done today and failing miserably.

DH and his forgetfulness.... He took kids swimming yesterday, left towel in the swimming baths. Retrieved towel from swimming baths then left it in the park. Today he left the umbrella in the restaurant. Just think!

Trying to think of a present for my mum but no ideas

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 28/10/2021 00:25

Crumbs.

yetmorewaiting · 28/10/2021 00:29

Covid. 3 of the 4 of us in the house are +ve but asymptomatic so kids stuck indoors staring at screens going steadily more hyper while I attempt to wfh. Still. And am having to miss first works actual face to face meeting in months because of isolating kids, not that the venue was going to be easy to get to but that's not the point, I now face more months of zoom / slack / teams twattery and get to hear how lovely the day trip was.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 28/10/2021 00:31

The worst period pain in forever & passing a big, hard clot that was almost exactly like a giant cranberry.

One of the dogs is now beautifully brushed except for half a leg & a butt cheek.

The other one sucked in one foot so he has 3 manicured feet & one that’s doing a passable impression of Freddie Kruger.

Spot cleaning the arm of one sofa & having the cat sit his fat arse on the damp fabric as soon as I turned away.

Having my DH in all day meetings in our home office when I’ve needed to use my desk in there with the loud equipment I’m using for my new business (it’s only the occasional 5 minute bursts of noise a couple of times a day, but one member of his team caught the lurgy so his trip to the office today was hastily cancelled last night).

Continuously forgetting I had my flu jab on Monday bumping my arm umpteen times today with an accompanying painful yelp.

And wearing the bra with the straps that are always falling down catching my jabbed arm, because I’d forgotten a) that bra is buggered & b) see previous paragraph.

Champagneforeveryone · 28/10/2021 00:42

I'm moving in 4 days which I'm not happy about anyway and in an effort to be prepared (and not leave them behind) we've removed and replaced all our smart bulbs.

It's such an entitled, whiny thing to complain about but I actually have to walk to the light switches now, and when I walked in after a late shift the house was dark Hmm

Figmentofimagination · 28/10/2021 01:15

DH being a sulky arse since about 3:30pm today because he was having a nap whilst DS was playing with his toys (fine) and I was working across the room. But when DS needed a poo I woke DH up to deal with it (because I'm working) and he hasn't stopped with the strop/silent treatment since.
He says I pick and choose which parts of parenting to deal with when I'm working at the same time. Maybe that's because I don't want to be rude to DS when I'm working, I can do quick things like grab a snack or fix a toy, but can't spend ages waiting for DS to have a poo, cos work! Some days I can be more social, some days I put my headphones on and ignore them both as I need to concentrate, some days I'm on the phone all day, my work fluctuates so I'm constantly assessing what I can and can't do with DS, not picking and choosing at all! Plus he is the one on leave today to do the half term childcare, and when I'm on leave tomorrow I will be doing it all on my own as he will be out at work.

This sodding snotty cold that won't go away. I've been snotty for over 2 weeks now. DS was kind enough to pass it too me, he was only ill for 3 days. I can't seem to shift it, I've gone through so many tissues.

SiobhanRoy · 28/10/2021 01:30

Loool no way I’d go mental if my husband woke me up to deal with a toddler poo when I was literally in the room Grin I very much admire your brass neck.

SiobhanRoy · 28/10/2021 01:30

No. When he was literally in the room.

NoDecentHandlesLeft · 28/10/2021 02:27

People having no spacial awareness in public

NoDecentHandlesLeft · 28/10/2021 02:30

*Spatial awareness.

twilightermummy · 28/10/2021 03:16

The Just Eat delivery driver that left the restaurant but never arrived. We’re moving house tomorrow. We were all starving, house an utter dive, kids going mad…damn you delivery driver. I had visions of them scoffing the food in the dark somewhere.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 28/10/2021 03:50

Aww @twilightermummy we moved in our house 8 years today! It’s just come up on time hop! Happy moving day.

We’ve got a bastard mouse in our garage who has chewed through a box to get to the Christmas chocolate (luckily only the kids stuff) - it ignored DHs gluten free Christmas goodies that were in a carrier bag on the garage floor - make of that what you will!

Pest controller is coming tomorrow and cost £100!! @CentrifugalBumblePuppy can I borrow your cat?

Onlinedilema · 28/10/2021 04:01

Work colleagues who guessed the procedure rather that ask for help and I had to deal with the fall out. Admit you don't don't understand rather than pretend you know what you are doing.
I'm not bailing you out again.

In case you've not found her blog yet, have a look on glutenfreecuppatea.co.uk I had to go gluten free last year and her recipes have really made it easier, the Yorkshire pudding one seems to be fool proof. She's got two books out now and again, the things I've made in there are fab. (Her other half can't have dairy so a lot of them are adaptable to vegan as well)

If you can't find gluten free flour in the supermarket, you can order it direct from Doves farm.
There is one brand of oven chips that we get from sainsburys that are gluten free, I'm sure they're McCain ones but I can't remember exactly. I can try and have a look later.
