When did you meet 'the one?'

I'm a few years from 40 and after years of a few long term relationships, more short term flings, i'm single. I always imagined I would find my one by now. I don't want much - someone funny, a bit of a geek, quirky and someone who cares for me as much as I care for him. I feel like i'm destined to be on my own forever!

34. Married at 35, 1st baby 10 mths later and 2nd at 39. 8 years on he's my best friend Thought it would never happen though.

Statistically some of them would be equally nice

I met 'The One' at 21. We are still married at 36. However, I could have continued on and met 'The One' at any age, in any country.

My point being, that there are many 'Ones' out there, many many people you can be happy with, dependant on time and circumstances.

I have met many people since I got married that I could see myself being very happy with. I just happened to meet my husband first.

I am sure there is more than one "one" :)
