Mid 30s just wondering if I should get the flu jab this year? Wouldn’t normally consider it but keeping hearing how as many people as possible need to get it.

Yes. I got it on the NHS this year because I’m pregnant but I get it privately in years when I’m not eligible on the NHS. I really think it’s a good idea to get it privately this year if you aren’t eligible on the NHS.

RuggerHug · 21/10/2021 10:08

Had it last week, get it every year.

Seasidemumma77 · 21/10/2021 10:09

Yes, paid to have it at Boots last week.

lurker101 · 21/10/2021 10:14

Me and my boyfriend both had it privately in September. Both in our 20s, but it’s only £15 and worth it to avoid being ill. We’ve had it a few years now but will be doing it going forward.

DuvetDayIsEveryDay · 21/10/2021 10:18

Last 40's get it free because autoimmune condition.

Got it today at 11am.

Have it every year since I got flu 6 years ago. It's horrific!

TSSDNCOP · 21/10/2021 10:22

Had it. No side effects. Second year running. I've not had Covid yet, so wouldn't want to get both badly.

longtompot · 21/10/2021 12:01

I had mine along with my two dds and dh. We've all had it is yd has a compromised immune system. Felt very tired the next day and my arm really hurt for a few days after, but no real flu like symptoms which I was expecting.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 21/10/2021 12:24

Yes, I'm booked for the £9 jab at Tesco (I'm a little too young to get it for free).

I had swine flu (along with DH) when that was doing the rounds, I'd rather not have it again.

abonae · 21/10/2021 12:27

Had mine a few weeks ago. I have it every year.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/10/2021 12:28

The criteria is quite wide this year it’s worth checking if it’s free for you.

I had it free because dh was shielding last year.

I’ve always wondered what would happen if we all routinely had it.

I am. I get it every year. Please get it. We are going to struggle with covid and flu can be really bad. That's the last thing the nhs needs.

Personally 2 years ago I had the jab but my DS and I ended up with flu. Whilst I was sick I was nowhere near as sick as he was. The jab made all the difference.

Please get it!

washingmachines4 · 21/10/2021 12:40

Yes, my whole family is jabbed, almost none of us are eligible free, we all pay for it.
It is so so so so important, this year more so than others. Please have it. Flu is miserable and can easily cause complications that at the very least drive the need for the use of a GP appointment, the NHS needs as much help as it can get this year even more so.

quitefranklyabsurd · 21/10/2021 13:00

Yes. Get it.

Had mine and my covid booster.
