Adele’s Easy on me grating on me

Anyone else think it’s a bit boring and not quite the ground breaking return to the spotlight we had hoped for? I know her material is quite formulaic and she definitely has a style but this is just so…meh. I’ve turned it off 30 seconds before the end each time I’ve listened to it because it just annoys me.

No doubt it’ll be a huge success and she’ll win a bag of Grammys and MTV awards but i think it’ll be because of who is singing not the song itself. I Just hope this isn’t the tone for the whole 30 album.

I like her and her music, generally, but this new song is SO boring.

She always comes across nice and down to earth in interviews, but I would rather shit in my hands and clap, than listen to her horrid, whiney, whinging, miserable singing voice. It's just fucking horrible.

I doubt she is overly arsed to be fair, and I don't think people have gotten personal, are we really at a point where people can't comment on a song without being branded mean girls? Her new song is pretty boring and same old same old, she is hugely talented and her voice is strong enough to do more versatile stuff if she wanted to- she evidently doesn't want to which is her choice, I don't see what's unreasonable about being critical of that. Regardless it will probably make her £££s.

I agree she comes across really well in interviews and on her social media too, would be good to hear some of that humour in her music, something a bit different and all that.

Or maybe because music is subjective, everyone is allowed to say if they don’t like her music?

The victim mode thing is grating, but in real life all I've ever known are people who would rather walk over hot coals than admit they were ever in the wrong! It is never them. It's always their partners, their in laws, the weather , anyone but them. Adele is obviously the same too!

Glad I ain’t the only one in finding it such a borefest. Her music doesn’t reflect her personality, such dreary songs from someone so hilarious is a waste.

The song is a bit meh & Adele's voice has changed, she doesn't sound as rich & deep & rounded as she usually does.
Her voice sounded a bit 'trilly' 'warbling' in the high places as if she was accidentally stumbling out of pitch/octave.
Just wondering if a big weight loss or weight gain can affect voice quality/tone/sound?
(As she doesn't sound like Adele more like she's doing an impression of Adele)
Having loved all Adele's previous stuff I only hope that the other songs on the album are better than 'Easy on me'

I really like her and enjoy quite a few of her songs but was a bit disappointed with the new release as it's so similar to her previous singles and I was hoping for something a bit fresher. The video is really similar to the Hello video too. Bit boring really!

Is her oeuvre entirely down to her? She doesn't write her songs alone, does she? As far as I'm aware, she doesn't play an instrument.

I like Adele, but not keen on this song.

She's a bit of a one trick pony. Another drawling ballad about a love lost, not really ground breaking stuff. Sure it'll be a hit because it's getting pushed non stop by every radio station out there. Is it great music, not in my opinion.
