I heard an interview with her on an Irish radio station with her during the week. I didn't hear the start, and it took a few minutes for me to figure out who she was. She's incredibly articulate and such a strong speaker for a person of her age!

I only know her from being author of books (which I never read) and being from Dynasty (which I've never seen). DH tells me she was also in the original Star Trek??

She is advertising a new book of course, but very interesting speaker nonetheless!

Oooh here’s my claim to fame! Joan is a friend of a friend and business partner, so I’ve met her many times both socially and business - and yes Joan is absolutely fabulous and lovely!

I listened to an interview with her late sister, Jackie Collins earlier.Her confidence was astounding, interesting how she referred so factually to her good looks as being attributed to having had very good looking parents. She wouldn't attend school and her parents decided she was destined for Hollywood or Borstal.

She's a very down to earth and interesting woman.

Im going to piss on everyones chips here. i never thought she was much of an actress, been in a few pretty dire films. . Always struck me as a bit of a Liz Taylor look a like. But she is very articulate and always looks immaculate.

She was at Champneys a couple if years ago when I was there.

she was on GMB this week, and they asked her about Prince Andrew and she just said she'd had them for dinner in the past (Sarah and Andrew) and they were interesting people.

Just refused to be drawn into anything. Which is good.

It's a physiological fact that most people's voices become less strong as they age. I saw that as an observation rather than a value judgment.

It’s only when I watch old movies or newsreels that I realise what we’ve lost. Most people now seem to slur their words together, or preface an answer with “So,” or raise the intonation of sentences at the end, as if Australian.

I could listen to Joan Collins all day.

My children have Australian intonation… we live in very rural Scotland and they haven’t been brought up on a diet of neighbours and home & away.

@PavlovsDoggie I’ve bumped into her and her husband in NY. She was very personable and lovely to me. She looked “younger” than her DH and more well kept. Best skin I’ve seen on anyone. He looked like any other late middle-aged American man, kinda introverted. Not because I’m a fan (of shorts) but you couldn’t see the attraction. She was better than him. He looked completely unremarkable and with zero appeal.

I think that was Patricia Neal (wife of Roald Dahl), she was an actress and starred in Breakfast At Tiffany's.

Love Joan Collins, she's lead such an interesting life. She always crops up in autobiographies of other Hollywood stars. I was reading a book about Joan Crawford recently, and she featured in that one. Collins was named after Crawford, and Crawford did not like her! (Too young and pretty apparently).

Joan Collins is a really interesting person, and she is not afraid to make fun of herself.

But OP "articulate for her age" - get off it.
