I am miserable and have felt like my life is over. I have a feeling of constant background dizziness, like off balance. Like a fuzzy sort of feeling. I have slight pain around my temples and pressure that is also in my nose and I feel as though my nose is going to burst ! And my nose keeps popping too it's so weird. When I turn around too fast I can get the off balance feeling. And I can't focus my eyes properly anymore feel like I'm looking through broken glass. I'm a mum and can't function, I've felt so low and my anxiety is so bad. I've seen my gp who has no clue what it is but said my ears are fine and both clear. Has anyone else had this or know possibly what this maybe it's been a month of this now! Thankyou xx Daffodil

Sinus problems. Try Sudafed or Sinutab.

Sertadopt · 16/10/2021 07:43

Migraine? You can get them without the typical migraine pain

Imcatmum · 16/10/2021 07:44

Sinus infection with inner ear problems would be my guess. But how long has this been happening??

Standrewsschool · 16/10/2021 07:45

Migraine?

Ponoka7 · 16/10/2021 07:46

My DD feels like you do when her sinuses are kicking off again. Did the GP give no suggestions? It's true that migraine can cause some of your symptoms. But your sinuses could be causing a migraine.

IrishMel · 16/10/2021 07:49

I get both and suffer with sinus infections. It can really affect the whole face, or if I stand up feel dizzy. Get sudofed spray as will help relieve all that pressure you are feeling, it is the worst pain ever had and the first time I got it did not know what it was. If it has lasted this long you will need antibiotics to clear it up. Drink lots of water also. Rest up when you get a chance as it makes you exhausted. I usually get them when temperature changes also and get migraine when get my period. Both are horrible but once you know what you are dealing with you can have the spray ready. Take care and get a doctors appt as soon as you can.

Your GP needs to refer you to an ENT specialist at your local hospital so that you can get a proper diagnosis other than ‘it’s not that’.

Mistyplanet · 16/10/2021 07:51

Some sort of sinus problem? There must be something wrong for you to feel like that. Id try a different doctor.

I agree, but when I saw my gp last week I was told that if I was referred now, my sppt would be in Dummer 2023!
Pottedpalm · 16/10/2021 07:55

Summer 2023! Sorry

Theunamedcat · 16/10/2021 07:57

Sinus definitely

Steam your face off for instant relief

There are some massages on YouTube that help with drainage too

Unless your face gets super hot and feels like you have got sunburn it shouldn't be infected (personal experience not medical professional)

Eye drops should relieve your eyes like hypromellose? They do a gel and a proper drop kind the proper drop should bring you some relief

BritWifeInUSA · 16/10/2021 07:58

Allergies?

Looubylou · 16/10/2021 08:00

Another vote for sinus problems, the over the counter treatments can help enormously. I've manged to ride it out without antibiotics a few times. It's been exactly as you describe, but often with thick yellow never ending mucous, that feels like you are blowing your brains out (not a runny nose).

SaskiaRembrandt · 16/10/2021 08:00

I agree with PP, you need to see another GP and if they can't find anything, insist on a referral to ENT.

Randoms on the internet are not a substitute for trained medical professionals.

GoldChick · 16/10/2021 08:01

Have you tried sticking your head over a bowl of steamy water with vick stirred in?

GoldChick · 16/10/2021 08:02

Did your GP say to go back after x weeks? Sometimes you have to be persistent.

mizu · 16/10/2021 08:09

I had a bad bout of vertigo 1st week of summer hols. Still got it at night and occasionally in the day. Weird feeling of horrible dizziness then it's gone.

It's an inner ear thing. Can be caused by a virus. Horrible.

Agree with pp, something viral, sinuses/ inner ear

Darkstar4855 · 16/10/2021 08:11

If you’re having trouble with your vision why not make an appointment for an eye test? Boots do retinal photography and everything these days and if there’s anything of concern, the optometrist can refer you on to an eye specialist.

Amberheartkitty · 16/10/2021 08:14

Labrynthitis.

Suzi888 · 16/10/2021 08:21

Have you been vaccinated against covid? My mum suffered with dizziness and feelings of pressure after each of her vaccines. Her GP advised it is a known side effect, Prochlezone tablets were prescribed and that sorted the problem out for her.

Draggondragon · 16/10/2021 08:22

Can't you see a doctor? It could be anything. My cousin had similar and eventually had an MRI after a year of symptoms which worsened. Sadly they lost the result and by the time it turned up a year later he was dead. Not saying that's likely but it's best to see a proper doctor rather than the internet. It's worth factoring this stuff into holiday plans. Noal countries have polyclinics where you can walk in and see an ENT for twenty pounds or so with no referral. I am literally waiting to see mine now for my itchy ear

vivainsomnia · 16/10/2021 08:23

I get all these and it took me years to co.pute that these are my body way to respond to anxiety. It of course that becomes a vicious circle.

Draggondragon · 16/10/2021 08:23

Normal not moal

beastlyslumber · 16/10/2021 08:30

Brain fog? That can be caused by anything. Common issues like low thyroid, vitamin and hormone levels should be ruled out. Agree with pp that sinus or migraine are both possible contenders. Also could be a food intolerance - the most common ones are gluten and dairy.
