A fun fact about you….

Inspired by another thread, I was trying to think of a fun fact about me. I finally thought of one:

I used to work at the treasury and, apparently, my office used to be Winston Churchill’s bedroom. I’m not sure how true it is but I love to think it is.

I'm an advanced scuba-diver.

I once pretended to be German to get out of a driving fine.

At work, when stressed, I have tried to ring people on my calculator, and add up on my landline phone 😳

I’ve been in two plane crashes

I saw Mother Teresa at a church service in India the year before she died. I’ve also been to see Mount Everest from a viewing point of the Himalayan Mountain range on Tiger Hill in Darjeeling. It was an amazing experience but I’ve never felt so cold. On the same trip with a group of friends we paid to go on a horse ride through Darjeeling. I’ve never been a very confident rider and the horses were going so fast at one point I felt sure I was going to fall.

I was a weird genius child and I did lots of research with educational institutes and child educational psychologists. I think they were hoping for some kind of life-changing revelation about my staggering genius () that would be useful for educators, and when I was 16 I agreed to follow up with them every 5 years on what I was doing in life for a study.

They're very disappointed to find I haven't got a Nobel prize and frankly am not remotely interesting at all, perfectly normal job and life. I am notably less high achieving than my fellow childhood boffins .

That or the fact I got caught for smoking as a 15 year old by being in the background of a photo that went in the local paper. I love that story - my grandad spotted it, tried to hide it from my dad, and my dad told us both off afterwards. Very funny.

Jesus, this is terrifying. Were these during sandard, going-on-holiday type trips, or do you fly for work?

I had a growth spurt at 27. I was 5ft 5 and then over a matter of months I grew to 5ft 10. No one knows why

Me too but only in my left thumb; my right thumb is normal. One of my brother's is the same.

I gave birth to my 2nd baby in a lift. Luckily it was the hospital lift with midwives around me!

I can swim a length of front crawl in one breath. I also have a disability.
