Words that other adults use that irritate you?

Some examples that seem to irritate me (yes I know it’s totally irrational!).

First is someone calling the tumble dryer ‘the tumblee’ (written phonetically to explain how they pronounce it). Second is ‘homee’ rather than home. I know there is no reason for these to give me the rage but they do.

AIBU to feel irrationally annoyed? What words that other adults use give you the rage?

Pack up. For packed lunches. I know it's regional and really shouldn't annoy me but it does.

Doo for a party/celebration or, I don't know, a do. Why so many os? Seeing Xmas doo makes me feel quite violent. See also Xmas.

Worst I saw was on here, aeons ago, when a poster was thinking her kids were ungrateful for the supper she provided. Among the unholy amount of food items were crisp , yogs and choc.

Where I'm from a doo is a pigeon and a do is a party! 😁

Also like a PP I loathe food/ drink abbreviations like hot choc etc but the ones that really get my goat are spag bol/ bowl or one really irritating twat I know who calls it spaggy bog. FFS.

Certain other shortened words also really irritate like cuppa/ brew, pots (when referring to saucepans).

I also really hate the word puke. Vomit, sick, chunder...but puke is such an unpleasant word.

Anyone not from the Southern hemisphere who says 'this arvo' or 'sanger'.

I love my DP dearly but he has a super irritating way of referring to an item of clothing. I have to try and ignore it. In fairness I sometimes inadvertently refer to dinner as dindins (I have no children under 5 and haven't for well over a decade so I have no excuse!) so that probably cancels his out

Another one that came to mind when I was scrolling through...when people use 'hinch' as a verb

Boob in the context of breast feeding. I know so many women who refer to their babies wanting the boob and then act surprised when they learn to talk and keeps asking for boob.

Never heard of half of these.

Whenever I feel I’m about to use internet speak I do a quick “translate into 90s lingo” in my head but occasionally I fail.
