To be want decent pillows?

I am sick of buying pillows. My neck is knackered. I am replacing the damn things far too often.
I want firm plumpy pillows like in a hotel that don't flatten in weeks.
I have money to spend and energy to plump them daily as required.
Not feathers. Please help me/ recommend something suitable. Is it that I'm not treating them right or that I'm buying crap ones?

I'd love to find the perfect pillow.

At the moment I'm currently with one flattish one, a slightly plumper one on top and then a v-shaped pillow (which is also a bit flattened). My shoulder fits into the v and my head is supported a bit higher up.

It's all a bit weird, but I can't find a comfier combo and I'm sick of buying pillows.

I bought these from Argos, didn't expect great things but I've never had a stiff neck since!
Premier Inn sell their pillows if you like hotel ones www.premierinnathome.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwhuCKBhADEiwA1HegOUTSNEcWsYWBiFaI-1UrR7k03GeTTkYLbt4KE3rHiYTvSCbRIb2HthoCOnEQAvD_BwE
We have a Premier Inn mattress. It's delightful.

I have tempur with thin ones on top that I can tuck my arm under. Heaven.

I roll a fleece blanket into a sausage and line it up down my body so I can lean on it while I am sleeping. The top of it supports my chin and then I have an average scrunchy pillow. It turns out my pillow problems were more of a needing my body supported problem. But i am a side sleeper

ShuddaBeenMe · 02/10/2021 22:22

I need a pillow that isn't noisy. I hate ones that I can hear. DH doesn't understand at all.

DazzleDrops · 02/10/2021 22:23

Dunelm memory foam pillows.
£8 each - they are amazing, much better than my other foam pillows that I paid £££ for.

Pinkplums · 02/10/2021 22:23

Dunlopillo everything feels wrong without it, I’ve had them for years and only replaced when someone threw up on my old one (they were marched out the next day to replace it as I can’t sleep without it!)

Cyberpixie · 02/10/2021 22:23

Traditional Dunlop pillow 14cm from latex sense. Soft, squishy but medium -firm support.

Doesn't flatten during the night, keeps your head off your shoulder and lasts 5yrs+

It has everything. Love mine.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 02/10/2021 22:24

I got a neck pillow from Dunelm, bloody fabulous. Couldn’t be without it .

YesPleaseMary · 02/10/2021 22:24

I have an iGel Side Sleeper, it’s firm yet squishy, it stays cool and it hasn’t lost its shape in 4 years.

Lightisnotwhite · 02/10/2021 22:24

My mum made my pillows in the 60’s. Feather with ticking. Probably literally now made of sweat and tears. Like sandbags but great if you sleep on your back.
Otherwise if not feathers go for wool. Wool pillows are amazing.

Whyisitsodifficult · 02/10/2021 22:25

God it’s like finding the holy grail! There must be a market for a pillow library!

FourLaneEnds · 02/10/2021 22:25

I buy hotel ones.
I looked at the labels in the rather smart Hope Street in Liverpool.

I also buy sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases that were in this hotel too.
I have goose feather pillows.

Second the simba

Expensive but worth it

Blackmagicqueen · 02/10/2021 22:36

Another vote for ikea; they really do cater for all.

Howareyouflower · 02/10/2021 22:36

My late brother bought a memory foam pillow on his consultant's advice. My brother had been off work sick for 18 months with a stiff neck. It worked. On his advice I bought one, and after the first 5 minutes thinking "No!" I haven't looked back, and have never again woken with back ache or neck ache.

Loudestcat14 · 02/10/2021 22:42

I'd had neck problems for months, including stiffness and shooting pains, so I bought a Panda Bamboo pillow because they reviewed really well for side sleepers, which I am. Now having the best sleep ever and no pain since.

RonaKnob · 02/10/2021 23:09

Shredded memory foam. I'll never go back.
