To wonder who knows your true hair colour

Do you also feel that hardly anyone knows your true hair colour?
Would you try your true hair colour before turning grey?

I am early forties and I wonder if it would be shocking to people around me. Everyone would describe me as a blonde, but I don't really think that is accurate.

I guess the polite way to describe my hair is medium ash blonde. I'd call it dishwater coloured. Since I am 19, I have never had my true hair colour. Always blonder, lighter or once or twice with reddish highlights.

I never look very done up. I do make-up once a month and never do anything fancy with my hair. My clothes are business casual or smart casual when I am at the office.
Really wondering why I bother with the hair colour.

I've stopped dying my hair. I've been bleaching it since I was 18 and the natural colour is a dark, mousey blonde. The condition was so bad and it kept breaking so I started to grow it out last year and now I much prefer my natural colour and the condition is a million times better.

I’m 35, I’ve not dyed my hair since I was 21.

Stop dyeing your hair. Why should women be ashamed of our hair changing colour as we age?

I'd be very surprised if they didn't as I haven't dyed it since my teens. Tried a load of different colours then & ended up realising my dark brown actually suited me the best. Bargain.

I enjoy dying my hair. Have done since my teenage years. The condition of my hair is great since I stopped using shampoos and conditioner with crap in them, as sylicones, sulphates and the rest. It´s lovely and shiny now, much more that when I was younger. Have gone down a lighter tone now I am older 47, with baby lights. Not the time for me for grey, no thanks. But it looks great on others. I was shocked at S. Jessica Parker though as she looked unkempt but Andie McDowell and Sharon Stone looked really good. Everyone to himself.

I found out the colour of my hair during lockdown as it grew out, it was much darker than I expected! So I will keep dying it a lighter ash grey and keeping my very dark eyebrows and cherry red lipstick (think sabrina the teenage witch...).

Someday my greys will catch up and then I can stop dying my hair grey.

Everyone! Have never dyed it.

Literally no one else cares about your hair colour. Unless you dye it bright pink, that usually gets a reaction initially but within 30 seconds no one cares.

I'm a fellow ash blonde (that my husband insists isn't actual blonde Hmm).

Haven't seen more than my roots in years, and ash blonde, whilst nice full head, does look unfortunately wishy washy as roots.

On the plus side you can dye it whatever colour you want. I go with the red that my mum didn't deign to pass on to me.
