A Vodafone door to door salesman was doing the rounds on our road earlier with the latest offers that aren't available online apparently... anyway he left his business card and when I saw his name I had to LOL as it was Robin Crowe! His family must love bird names Grin

A woman called Paige Turner. Which is made even more ridiculous by the fact she's a journalist.

I also know a toddler whose first name is Cunliffe. Not necessarily funny, but the ugliest name I’ve ever heard.

@Ilovecharliecat

Cousin of an ex called Mark Hunt. A now deceased friend Christopher Hunt (Mr C Hunt) no relation to the above. I also know of the surnames Fluck and Trollope
The actress Diana Dors was born Diana Fluck. she changed the surname because she said when her name was up in lights if some of the lights went out it could be quite embarrassing.
unsportyspice · 23/09/2021 05:38

Know a man called Tommy Gunn 🤣

SpacemanDad · 23/09/2021 05:48

A teacher in primary school was called Rosie Bottom, her and her husband changed their surname by deed poll to Barron, and I once worked for a manager called Randolph Dick who went by Randy for a first name. Randy Dick

LoislovesStewie · 23/09/2021 05:57

When I was at school there were 2 boys in the class, surnames Titt and Bottoms. Titt's first name began with A, so he was A Titt on his records. Did his parents not think?

Mamanyt · 23/09/2021 06:18

OH, gosh...I forgot the surgical team in my parent's town, Dr.s Butcher, Slaughter and Payne. Dr. Payne's brother was a dentist, so also Dr. Payne.

And I did go to school with Dustin "Dusty" Rhodes and Sandra "Sandy" Streets, who eventually married. I always thought that they should have both changed their last names to "Avenue."

Mseddy · 23/09/2021 06:27

Le-a. But the dash was pronounced!!! So she was called Le-dash-ah!

I worked with a carole carol. She was carol bond and she married a James carol. He didn't want to be James bond so she got lumped wirh carole carol!

Mseddy · 23/09/2021 06:28

Also my DD was delivered by a male midwife who's surname was Bean. Not funny in itself until I say Mr Bean delivered my daughter! We also live next door to Mr Whippey Grin

dentydown · 23/09/2021 06:32

Went to school with a Laurie Driver. She wasn’t English so I don’t think her parents connected the B names together

Bibliophile001 · 23/09/2021 06:37

Boy called Will Rust

sashh · 23/09/2021 06:41

Peter Ennis - not funny until you just put the first initial as you would addressing a letter.

Boniface - pronounced Bonny Fass but if he isn't pretty when he grows up it's not going to fit.

Iain McSporran QC could he be any more Scottish?

On a similar thread on here someone who was a midwife told a story that whatever names people pick midwives always say, "How lovely" and smile, they are not supposed to comment on names except this day she had delivered a little girl the parents were calling Jenna, which is a nice normally name, but you have guessed it, their surname was Taylor.

I believe she broke the rules and mentioned it to the parents.

JellyMouldJnr · 23/09/2021 06:44

@Charliechoosecarefully

I know a girl called Iona swan ( I own a swan Grin)

The weirdest name I've come across was William Williams - not very original..

William Williams is quite common, as is Robert Roberts.

I knew of a Bank Manager called David Pinches, I always wanted to say “Do you?”
