A Vodafone door to door salesman was doing the rounds on our road earlier with the latest offers that aren't available online apparently... anyway he left his business card and when I saw his name I had to LOL as it was Robin Crowe! His family must love bird names

The best I've ever seen was a nurse called Angela De'Ath!

I worked with a Cathy Wheel and took me ages to work out why she never used her full name Catherine!

A girl at my college, Jo, married Simon King so she became Jo King.

Lastly in my first job I worked with Mr. Pink and Mr. Green and then Mr. Pink married Miss. White.

Funny how on the baby name threads posters always say that children won't be mocked for their names.

My dd was at school with twins named Mary and Joseph which I always smiled at. Many moons ago, when I worked at the benefit office, claims were on paper. One of my colleagues brought the place to silence by misreading CLINT (all names in capitals) and calling out for Mr Cunt

People often mispronounce my surname but it certainly isn’t an embarrassing mistake for anybody!

You must wonder whether some parents are not thinking, deliberately cruel, naive or have a weird sense of humour. Unfortunately some people(particularly young kids) can be cruel, why give your child a name which could only help the bullies.

I work in the healthcare field and as a junior had patients on the same ward (but not at the same time) called Micheal Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Philip Colins and my personal favourite May Day.

Fanny Chmelar (German, pronounced very similar to Smeller) is my all time favourite.

Went to uni with an Anthony Hill. I laughed and said “ant hill” and he’d never noticed 😳

My daughter has a Jonathon Thomas known as John in her class, I suspect that was deliberate though (parents have that kind of sense of humour).

I once worked with a French lady called Fanny Trouble. Pronounced true bell, but very awful for her! Also had a friend at uni whose mum was called Gaynor Gaynor (married name)
