What are your favourite things about your children?

I think Mumsnet can sometimes give quite a negative impression about having children, because people are (understandably) so much more likely to post about the tough times than the good ones. I thought it might be nice to have some balance by talking about the best bits!

So let me know - what are your favourite things about your children?

I have a son, nearly ten months old. Some of my favourite things are:

When he waves at you and you wave back and it makes him beam all over his face.

When he’s excited about something and he stamps his feet like he’s doing the cucuracha.

How interested he is in everything.

The way he gets hysterics when you say ‘achoo!’

The breathless, snorty gasps of excitement he does whenever he sees me or his dad.

The way he kisses me on the cheek with his whole mouth open and it’s so gross but so cute.

Let me know yours!

DD10 is gorgeous. She loves a cuddle, tells me bad jokes, will always help me when I ask and is just generally a delight to live with!

My son is 3 and these are the things I love about him:

-How he likes to be held like a baby to go to sleep sometimes.
-How he blows kisses to me.
-How he gives cuddles.
-How independent he is becoming.
-How kind he is.
-How he reminds me, every time I look at him, how far I have come.

My son drives me insane at times but...
He is always enthusiastic about whatever hair brained ideas I have.
He loves insects little creatures and is gentle to babies.
He always has questions which make me see the world differently.
He stops the conversation randomly or shouts me to tel me loves me.
He gets in bed in the morning and holds my hand.
He is funny and very friendly and a bit weird.
He doesn't give a damn what other people think and has no sense style ....just like me.
When he grows up he wants to be a horse.
He helps his very elderly gransma when she visits.
He is just an ace all round little star.Smile

Lovely thread idea OP.

Mine are both off at uni as of yesterday... looking at their empty beds last night almost broke my heart.

I loved to see their little sleep filled faces when they came down in the morning (or afternoon after a night out) always a sleepy smile with a "morning mum" ... Next phase now...
