To not know how to get rid of this slug in my lounge?

Tell tale slug trails on the lounge carpet every morning! It’s disgusting.

No idea how slug is getting in or where it’s going. How do I get rid and stop it returning. (I say ‘it’ there could be while gang of them! )

DH wants to out down salt but think this will end up with exploded slug which would be even worse. Where is it coming from and how do I get rid of it?

Thought the thread title was referring to the DH, I'm disappointed we are talking about a shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollus.

We had them in our kitchen for ages. Woe betide you if you went down barefoot at night. 🤢 🤢 🤢

Update for anyone in similar position, 3 nights of keeping the lights on appears to be working. Can’t see any trails this morning.
