Mammaaof · 19/09/2021 23:52

So tonight my tesco delivery just didn't turn up!!! No phone call, no email, nothing!! The app is still showing its going to be delivered!! I've got no fruit here for my children for school, my DD is autistic and going to have a meltdown when she doesn't have her usual fruit! I am so so annoyed!!
Can't wait to hear the excuse Tesco give me in the morning when I ring, no doubt they will just offer a proxy £10 good will gesture!

TheQueef · 20/09/2021 17:18

Will you be ok to wait a few days for refund? If not call the bank for a temporary overdraft so none of your DD are returned.
There is no excuse good enough from Tesco I'd be livid.

AdoraBell · 20/09/2021 17:28

Once the food is delivered tell them if the refund isn’t done by the end of play tomorrow you will ask for advice, on Twitter. Lay it on thick, no money for gas and electric, which are about to run out, stress for autistic child due to food not available due to lack of delivery, how can they treat customers this way etc.

Mammaaof · 20/09/2021 17:28

@TheQueef yes thank you luckily I have been taking money out for Christmas so I can always dip into that in an emergency and put it back when I get the refund.
Someone just rang me, she has processed ( before even calling and asking me) a 6 month free delivery pass worth £48, I said that to be honest I wasn't even sure I wanted to place another order with them! Free delivery or not z

@Demelza82

Thanks for sharing.......Confused
What did you find confusing?
MalcolmTuckersBollockingface · 20/09/2021 17:43

I had similar, yesterday, but my grub did turn up eventually. Obviously all the unavailable items were for dd’s pack up. No apology or acknowledgement from the driver about being several hours late.

Sylvvie · 20/09/2021 17:58

The central customer services is open til really late..... did you call the store directly? Confused

She processed the refund too I hope.

StupidUsername123 · 20/09/2021 18:12

This is why you need more than 1 bank account. I have one where money comes in and Bill's come out and a saving where I transfer all my income and do necessary transfers at certain times whe payments are due or of I buy something because you never know which company can randomly charge you more than once or for something you dont recognize

loopylindi · 20/09/2021 18:19

@JetRocket You're lucky to be able to go shopping!!!I've not been out of the house for 18months (apart from medical stuff) because of (mainly ) Covid and secondly because of a 2yr delay for URGENT knee replacement I can hardly walk. So, enjoy it! Yes it is awkward when the wrong things turn up - but for me it's worth it

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 20/09/2021 18:20

Not sure how anyone can say YABU OP Confused

Mammaaof · 20/09/2021 18:23

@Sylvvie it closes at 6 on a Sunday.

OP posts:
Mammaaof · 20/09/2021 18:24

@CustardySergeant yes apparently that was done this morning she said but will take up to 5 days to go back into my account! Which is ridiculous as they take it instantly

OP posts:
CottonSock · 20/09/2021 18:24

This happened to me once. They stood by the fact that it must have been delivered, but admit perhaps it could have gone to wrong address. After a few conversations with store manager I got my refund. But no shopping and no goodwill.

Once my click and collect wasn't ready (only tried it once) and they couldn't have been more helpful. Did the shop, Easter eggs for kids, wine for me. Helped me to car - I had a newborn and toddler and was rather tired. Same store, but totally different attitude. The non delivered one I really don't think they believed me.

CustardySergeant · 20/09/2021 18:29

That's outrageous! 5 days is beyond a joke. Why the hell didn't they keep to their promise not to charge you again? Whoever promised that should have ensured it didn't happen.

Ooooh! I'm furious on your behalf. Angry

MargeWhereDidMyFingersLand · 20/09/2021 18:36

Asda did similar to me a couple of years ago OP, second lot didn't turn up either as they cancelled when the second charge attempt bounced and never bothered to let us know. Customer service didn't give a shiny shit and eventually offered me a free delivery credit for that week, not much use when they already had my food money! Angry

It was a great first impression when we had never used them before.

Mammaaof · 20/09/2021 18:46

I'm so lucky that I had that money in my account for them to take otherwise I would have had absolutely no food and would have had to have waited up to 5 days for the refund! I think something should be put in place to stop it happening!
I don't think the lady believed me this morning especially as they can't find my shopping, but I said I have shopped with them, with the same delivery slot for 3 years so why would I now say I had no shopping, I spend £150 a week with them sometimes a bit less but it's always over £100 every single week!! And the fact I had to speak to numerous people before even getting offered a good will gesture!

@JetRocket

This is exactly why I don’t online shop anymore.
  • not turning up
  • crap dates
  • sad looking fresh produce
  • random/ much worse value substitutions (yes I can reject but I still needed those items)
  • items not turning up only for me to go to store… where surprisingly they are all available.
-incorrect allergy info on website rendering items useless. -Taking money and then dragging their heels to refund.

Honestly I hate online shopping I really do and I get irate when everyone and their dog says ‘oh I can’t believe you take 2 under 2 to the supermarket, you should just do it online’ Angry

@JetRocket I think it depends what supermarket you use. Morrisons have been fab so far Smile
Pixxie7 · 20/09/2021 18:57

I had a similar issue with Tesco, they did deliver the following day but to add insult to injury they charged me twice which I only noticed when my statement through.

Clarinet1 · 20/09/2021 19:01

I used to use Tesco and got fed up
with late deliveries etc so I swapped to Ocado (not a stealth boast) and have now used them for about 10 years. Personally, I don’t think my typical shop costs much more and, on the odd occasion when there has been any kind of problem, compensation has been very
generous.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 20/09/2021 19:41

@tyneteas
You sound very generous but based on your name I'm assuming you are not local to me. Do you think you could you slice a banana very thinly and then fax it to me?

How was your dd with her no red fruit this morning (brought back nice memories for me, my eldest would only have green, he still prefers green but a. Has branched out a little but biggest is b. Has grown and left home)

Glad Tesco has delivered tonight.

fluffythedragonslayer · 20/09/2021 21:43

Tesco are awful. I stopped using them ages ago as they are so unreliable and would just cancel whole orders etc. Completely incompetent!
