URGENT HELP- think school are taking the piss

First time post. Need urgent advice before I loose my mind and it's very outing to!
Ds is very poorly and has a 1;1 at school, one for morning one in afternoon
I'm fighting a loosing battle to get him to a special school as school he's in can't look after him properly but that's another story

At the beginning of the week he fell (he's wobbly) and banged his head- had a little tiny lump and brooze. Used to this so thought nothing of it
Today my dd was having issues going the toilet so my friend tried to take ds to school as we was going to be late. He didn't want to go so that's fine il take them together (my friends seen him) and so did the lady in reception as she walked him to class

So when I pick him up at lunch - doctors appointment- he has a hugeeeeeee egg on his head!!! I was like wow, jaw hit the floor when I seen him an so did the receptionist she agreed it wasn't their this morning. 1;1 said she hasn't had his eyes off him all day and he hasn't banged it

So my question is - can the swelling of a bump happen so quickly in the space of 2.5 hours so long after it happening originally ??? I can add pictures but need advice before I loose my shit if im honest, I'm in bits and at my whits end with the school.

I think the poster chuckling at the word 'brooze' was misjudged rather than unkind!?

I think the poster chuckling at the word 'brooze' was misjudged rather than unkind!?
Didn't bother me. I'm dyslexic so I can look back an laugh at my own spelling sometimes. Specially as a child Haha

So glad you have support getting him into a school that can help him.

That bruise looks bloody horrible bless him, I’m not an expert but looks to be like it’s banged twice? Like on a corner (the dark part) onto the floor (the larger lighter bruising)

chocolatethunder · 15/09/2021 21:04

The lighter part is in the same place from this morning so it's what he's done with me? Does this make sence what I'm thinking ?

Did the initial bump happen at home or at school? Do you have any record of the I itial bump? If it happened at school they should have a report.

Poor kid. Life must be very frightening for him. Hope your team can get things sorted for him quickly.

chocolatethunder · 15/09/2021 21:07

First bump was at home ! So wasn't like that x

Mymapuddlington · 15/09/2021 21:09

I’d assume then that he fell over like was said and the lighter part came out (which I would expect) then the dark bruise is from a big crack to the head, I’d say the corner of a table or something going on the red mark.

I have a son with dyspraxia and sensory disorder, was constantly falling into, over and onto things and I’ve never seen bruising that bad. He fell down the stairs from the top and hit his head on the corner of the window sill and it didn’t come out like that so I’d be concerned personally.

RoseGoldGlasses · 15/09/2021 21:09

From the photo he's deffo banged it on something as you can see where the impact was

chocolatethunder · 15/09/2021 21:11

He actually has a little hole on it doesn't he ?

OP posts:
JaffavsCookie · 15/09/2021 21:11

@Mymapuddlington have you looked into a boarding place at Breckenborough ( specialist school in north Yorks for high ability autistic boys)

chocolatethunder · 15/09/2021 21:12

That was this morning. No hole or anything as he fell into the door
Forehead went into my front door so that's why it was along his forhead wasn't an actual impact from a corner or anything? Was broozed like I said and a little bump x

Just so you can compare pictures from this morning v after school

Mymapuddlington · 15/09/2021 21:18

@JaffavsCookie I haven’t but I will do, thank you!

iwannabelikeyouhoohoo · 15/09/2021 21:19

No advice but brooze has made my day

You are an idiot.

OP I agree A&E should be first priority and then think about the rest in the morning.

Loubiemoo · 15/09/2021 21:19

Looks like 2 bruises almost? One to the left (a little one, maybe the original?) and the big one.

Loubiemoo · 15/09/2021 21:21

Definitely need looking at. Is his left eye swollen? The bridge of his nose looks a little bruised and swollen too?

bellabelle1994 · 15/09/2021 21:23

Get that looked at ASAP.

Boredhimtodeath · 15/09/2021 21:23

To me that looks like two separate injuries. One to the right of the picture that’s healing and then the bigger, darker bruise.

bellabelle1994 · 15/09/2021 21:23

He looks as though he's getting 2 shiners as well

Mymapuddlington · 15/09/2021 21:25

I’d say a&e as well, especially since he can’t tell you what happened or how hurt he is

Antinerak · 15/09/2021 21:25

That circle in the bruise looks like the hole in the lid of a pen- is that the size of it? That's a very odd mark to have if he hasn't done more than bump his head on the door.

chocolatethunder · 15/09/2021 21:31

We're going to our main hospital first thing tomorrow to see our team and get their help. He has been seen everyone and he has all his monitors on etc so super cautious
But I'm glad people thing it is another injury on top of the one he did at home. I'm heartbroken??? I can't take much more battling this school to get him to a special school he deserves, it's killing me

OP posts:
Mummyoflittledragon · 15/09/2021 21:33

I can’t see the other photo from this morning. I also thinks if looks as if he’s possibly bumped himself twice.

overworkedrobot · 15/09/2021 21:35

They forgot to review the ehcp before summer

Was the meeting in March the annual review? If so, there wouldn't have been another AR in the summer term, but you could ask for an early review, although there's no right of appeal if the LA refuse. An AR must be held every 12 months, if March's meeting wasn't the AR and the last one was longer than that complain using IPSEA's model letter, then threaten Judicial Review.

If March was the annual review did the LA amend the EHCP afterwards, and if you have the finalised amended EHCP have you appealed if a special school isn't named and you want one to be?
