To ask what colour your kitchen floor is?

.....especially if you have oak worktops and light coloured cabinets.

We need to look at flirting for our kitchen, DH thinks the beige tiles I’d picked out will make it all too light and wash it out. We don’t want wood as we have wood throughout other parts of the house and wihh the the oak worktops, it would all be too ‘woody’

Really need to find something fast but despite looking on Pinterest and Instagram, I’m all out of inspiration.

Black floor, oak cabinets, black worktops. I don’t love it. One day we’ll afford to change it.

Betsythecheshirecat · 15/09/2021 17:42

Oak cabinets, black granite worktop, large cream marble tiles. Colour is usually marred with drops of sauce, spilt drinks, crumbs....

Lucyccfc68 · 15/09/2021 17:45

White cabinets, Matt grey worktop and stone/white floor. It would be quite light, but I went for a deep blue paint on the walls.

AtillatheHun · 15/09/2021 17:45

Dark slate grey floor, grey granite tops. Hate hate hate. Wish they were paler.

pourmeanotherglass · 15/09/2021 17:47

Dark green cabinets, pale wood floor and worktops.

OwlBasket · 15/09/2021 17:51

Kitchen was here when we moved in, I love it. Slate floor, oak cupboards and white worktops here. Pale, brushed metal kickbords (is that what they’re called?) though. Dark to match the slate would have been awful. White too.

tootiredtobother · 15/09/2021 17:54

limestone flags with a fair bit of natural pattern and various sand colours, hides all manner of crap !

Wole · 15/09/2021 17:54

Dark grey

StarryStarrySocks · 15/09/2021 17:55

Floor is black, counters are black and white marbled effect, cabinets are glossy white. A black floor is great if you're lazy like me, you can get away with mopping it less often!

YoComoManzanas · 15/09/2021 17:56

Grey quartz worktops, gloss white doors, oak effect vinyl floor.

ghostyslovesheets · 15/09/2021 17:56

white cabinets - oak worktops - parquet 'effect' oak laminate flooring

pussycatlickinglollyices · 15/09/2021 17:58

Ours is white...don't flirt with that.

Xmassprout · 15/09/2021 18:00

Slate grey cabinets, oak worktops and dark grey flooring

ShoppingBasket · 15/09/2021 18:01

Black slate tiles with white grout. Painful to keep clean but think it may because we have heavy limed water so leaves a residue. Might be ok in other houses.

tintodeverano2 · 15/09/2021 18:03

Black slate effect tiles. I hate them.

spanieleyes · 15/09/2021 18:07

Black flooring, white cabinets, oak worktop, black tiling and black appliances

Nettleskeins · 15/09/2021 18:08

Rightmove is often inspiring!
I quite like terracotta tiles with white and wood. Gives richness to a light traditional scheme. But not very fashionable.
I have engineered white oiled oak (greyish limed effect) it's stained but very pleasant warm quiet after 9 years.
Old kitchen in another house had terracotta tiles which I loved but this house too cold

Nettleskeins · 15/09/2021 18:09

Topps tiling did my engineered floorboards

DappledThings · 15/09/2021 18:11

Terracotta tiles. Think they are quite old and we've them. Cabinets need updating and probably going to go for cream with wood tops.

Singinghollybob · 15/09/2021 18:13

Off white cabinets, wooden worktops and grey tiled floor

weegiemum · 15/09/2021 18:13

We have oak worktops, wooden doors and www.toppstiles.co.uk/bathroom-tiles/zelve these tiles on the floor.

Grey smoked oak is good too but apparently that is also going out of fashion

ThatScottishLass · 15/09/2021 18:15

White tops and lower cabinets, blue-grey upper cabinets and grey oak wood effect tile flooring all through the house. If I had oak tops I’m not sure what I’d go for tbh, maybe a slate grey tile?

Same. Looks good and practical with pets.
Takingabreakagain · 15/09/2021 18:17

Oak cabinets, cream worktops and black amtico flooring here
The kitchen designer wanted me to get light flooring but I thought it would be too much 'light' in the room. (Plus I have dogs and CBA cleaning every time they come in from the garden!) Even though it's a north facing room it doesn't seem too dark because of the lighter worktops.
