...belives they are as knowledgeable as someone who has dedicated their career and have the relevant professional qualifications in a subject? It really fustrates me and makes me concerned for future.
I see on the Internet all the time this 'extensive research' line and think, what makes u more knowledgeable and also the line could literally mean anything.

I found this twitter feed which is loosely linked, even when confronted this person continues to spead misinformation. i would love to know why?
I would say there is a level of arrogance to it to.

@Angrymum22

I remember a mum at school, who is a medical negligence solicitor, claiming that she knew more about medicine than most doctors because she had read so many medical reports. So there you go, no need for 5yr undergraduate course followed by at least 5 yrs post grad training.
She might well do. But there is a huge difference between that and some who ‘reckons’ something because one person wrote it online.

I, and a good few others on here, I would guess, have typed hundreds of medical reports over a lengthy period of time. So line up please, which of us would you choose to take your appendix out? No surgeons required, will do it in your lunch hour.

God we have a nutritionist on my local Facebook page who drives me mad with her 'research' statements. She comes across as very knowledgeable but often dismisses proper scientific research (I.e published papers in peer review journals), and says to get the true information you need to look in the right places. She uses science only when it suits her agenda. She's on a bit of an anti mask /Covid denial rant at the moment which is very tiresome. I've been close to reporting her to her professional body as some of the stuff she spouts is frankly dangerous.

Report her. Dangerous information that people make follow needs reporting and removing.
