Been prescribed yesterday by doctor and given yesterday. No dead worms seen but two alive on bum in my DD (2)

An ongoing problem for at least a few weeks complaining of sore bum in night checked over and over again several nights and nothing then a few days ago around 4pm threadworm around anus. I’ve been applying Vaseline cleaned house top to bottom and medicated us all. Washing her hands religiously keeping her in nappies to keep her hands out etc. Washing all towels and sheets and everything recommended.

Should I have seen dead worms by now?
I shouldn’t have read so many stories of ovex resistance etc on all the forums but I don’t want her to suffer anymore. Has anyone any positive stories? Please I’m desperate at this point. I have a 1 year old too and an elder child and no symptoms in anyone apart from toddler.

I think they say, no sugar, raw garlic, pumpkin seeds and pineapple

Along with your normal diet, not just eating those foods. This is what I have read.

Worked for us as far as I can tell because he stopped complaining of an itchy bum. I haven't ever seen any other evidence. Obviously my DH refused to take the ovex but it worked on everyone else I'm guessing. I don't really think about it too much.

@W1ntersnow Haven’t seen or had any symptoms since. Surprisingly easy to get rid of to be honest

W1ntersnow · 16/02/2022 09:15

That's good to hear 😁

Thanks, and good to hear that got rid of the symptoms, we have been plagued by these for years and kind of given up 💔
W1ntersnow · 18/02/2022 12:26

@dangerrabbit oh no have you really. Have you been to the drs?

dangerrabbit · 18/02/2022 13:13

Yes and they did a test on our poo but just told us to take ovex and clean both of which we do

Hangingtrousers · 18/02/2022 13:22

Worms here at Christmas. Took ovex, two weeks later took second dose. No sign since so think it worked. Good luck... so grim especially for girls.

W1ntersnow · 18/02/2022 13:32

@dangerrabbit that's not good hope they clear up soon. Perhaps keep on at the drs, maybe there is something else they can prescribe?
