to ask my boyfriend to move my car?

I had to leave my car 2 streets over after my Covid test on Sunday. It's making me really nervous not being able to see it. I'd chance running out at night, but there really aren't any spaces once everyone comes home.

He's dropped me off shopping and popped by to see me from the window, but he won't move it. I'm cranky and cooped up but it's really annoying me!

There is a country in the united kingdom called Wales

Oh dear

If your test result is positive, you must continue to self-isolate and complete the full self-isolation period of at least 10 days. Day 1 is the day immediately following the day you first had symptoms.

From gov.wales/self-isolation#section-45565

Honestly gobsmacked that any single fucker in this world thinks you don't have to self isolate if covid positive, regardless of vaccination status.

Yes!! Well put.
Dishwashersaurous · 08/09/2021 22:46

But honestly why do you need to see it?

jpclarke · 08/09/2021 22:49

Why don't you run out early in the morning when people are at work?

Peanutsandchilli · 08/09/2021 22:55

Just move it yourself and stay away from people. Don't know why it's so taxing that you have to debate it on here.

Tell me you are joking?

Depending where in the world you are has different rules such as in some places If you have Covid but are double jabbed you do not have to isolate [/quote]
No

Shoxfordian · 08/09/2021 23:10

Yabu
Unless you’re planning to watch it all day then it could still get stolen outside your house

Figgyboa · 08/09/2021 23:13

Sounds like you're being a bit precious. If it bothers you that much, mask up in the morning once everyone has gone to work and move it

Eilatan2018 · 09/09/2021 19:26

@BlueBloodedDinosaur

I do not have car related anxiety Hmm I just don’t have a parking space. I’d like just to be able to pop my head out the window and know it’s there.
Get a grip. Just put a mask on in the day when there are spaces… go move it in your eye sight. Stop worrying. It really is pathetic!
Rewis · 09/09/2021 19:34

He should move the car unless he can actually verbalise that he doesn't not want to due to covid or something. However, go do it yourself. Put on a mask mask go to the other side of the road if there are other people.

Where I am covid positive cases are allowed to take 2 hours a day outside of the home for fresh air and exercise as long as they remain in open spaces and keep as much distance as possible from others. Lots of caveats are listed of course.

Our authorities have tried to balance the risk of transmission now a high proportion of our population are vaccinated with the risks to mental health and well-being of not experiencing fresh air and open space in two weeks, particularly given the number of people here who live in flats with no access to a garden or balcony, and the number who are asymptomatic so ultimately just climbing the walls for 2 weeks.

OP if you're really that worried pop out in a mask and move your car. If you encounter anyone you can always keep your distance. You'll be fine.

MissCruellaDeVil · 09/09/2021 19:54

You're being ridiculous, surely you leave it when you go out to work, on holiday etc?

SilenceOfThePrams · 09/09/2021 20:07

You’re getting a rough ride here and I don’t know why.

I also don’t have private parking and would be very twitchy if My car was out of sight for a fortnight. And yes, if I couldn’t leave the house to move it myself I’d ask someone else to. And I’d be quite upset if they refused. It’s such a small thing to ask someone to do, to take five minutes to just bring it round and park it where you can see it.

Chances are it will be absolutely fine. But it isn’t ridiculous to worry, especially when you’re ill.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 09/09/2021 20:17

There are plenty of MNs who would moan if a unknown car was parked outside their house for 10 days with no sign of an owner!

CaptainThe95thRifles · 09/09/2021 23:13

You could go over at night and remove the battery if you're really worried. I've done that when I've left my car away from my drive as it's a make which is a very common target for theft. I'd probably just move it back personally, but if you're not keen to do that...

Ace56 · 10/09/2021 00:09

Agree with pp that you’re being very precious about leaving your car out of sight and also about just nipping out to move it.

EngelbertsRumpispink · 10/09/2021 01:50

I'm with you, @OP - your boyfriend is a weasel.

I hope for you a quick recovery, and that you don't end up with long Covid.

wombat1a · 10/09/2021 04:26

Is he legally allowed to drive it? If he has the wrong sort of license, is not insured then he shouldn't be driving it.

Probably the least likely reason he won’t move it, is because he’s a 16yo with a provisional moped licence - or whatever - and didn’t just tell OP that 🤣 Talk about clutching at straws!
