We have someone doing some work for us today, a joiner, in two of the bedrooms. I am in our bedroom feeding the baby (joiner does not need to come in here). I just mentioned to DH I will be getting in the shower so will put baby down in the cot.

He suggested it is not appropriate for me to shower while he is in the house. I said I cannot wait til he's gone as we are going out to a party this afternoon and he is likely to be here until then and I don't think it's an issue anyway though don't really want him to see me in my PJs.

Is it just me who thinks it's odd DH says I shouldn't shower as their is a man working upstairs?

Mindymomo Wow bet he gets a few women trying it on as well? There has been a few “I fancy the plumber” threads on Mumsnet

@VeganVeal

Sorry that was wrong, it should be shelves not shelfs
LOL!
MyPatronusIsACat · 04/09/2021 13:31

LOL, he is jealous!

If I'd followed your DH advice, I would have only had a shower on Saturday or Sunday for 6 months while we had the builders in!
They arrived at 7am

@BunnytheFriendlyDragon

I can see DH's point as the joiner is putting up new shelfs in the bathroom

Is this a joke?

Hmm

I assuming it meant to say if.

If you out in the right word it is funny Grin

We had someone come to plaster my bedroom the other week. Due after 8. Ds usually swim trains and we get home about 7.45 and he then showers.

He didn't want to swim and didn't feel like he wanted a shower whilst we had workman in.

It was cutting it too fine to do it at pool before coming home.

"However he said he "did not feel comfortable" having a shower outside his home. Go figure."

That's totally different. I would also not bother getting used to someone else's shower and using their toiletries instead of mine if I wasn't even staying overnight.

As long as you can lock the bathroom door, it’s obviously fine!

Yes, you dont want the joiner escaping

With a two month old baby, you shower whenever you can, workman or not!

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 08/09/2021 17:09

I think I'll put it down to DH being weird!
