It's cold and dark out. I have my candies lit for the first time in months and the heating is on. I feel I'm missing something??

Dark nights with my candles on and heating on. Sitting watching a family film then nice newly washed sheets on the bed. God I’m getting old lol 😆

LBirch02 · 31/08/2021 07:43

On a simple level - a cup of tea!

FawkesThePhoenix · 31/08/2021 07:55

I Loveeeee Autumn/winter! I do enjoy summer but I get bored of it very quickly as i like the routine and calmness (is that even a word) of winter. I DO NOT like the illnesses that DS is about to start bringing home from school though!

My favourite autumn/winter night would be...fluffy socks, cosy pyjamas, dressing gown, cup of tea, peice of carrot cake and a snuggle on the sofa with DS and a cosy blanket. I also love daytime, being wrapped up in hat and scarf, nice and warm in a thick coat but having a nice walk and breathing in the lovely cold fresh air. Grin

Smell of baking. Or toast.
The children all sleepy at the table while I make breakfast for them. None of us are morning people so it’s all really quite. Just smell of toast and coffee and their content little sighs. That is, until dh makes an appearance singing, slamming cupboards. Etc. Confused

In the evening when it's dark out and I'm on the sofa in my PJs, dressing gown, fluffy throw over me and a cat curled up purring on my lap while I drink a cup of tea.

Can't believe I've been using the fluffy throw in August!

LittleBiscuit09 · 31/08/2021 08:50

Cup of tea.
Fluffy dressing gowns.
Foot masks/face masks.
Candles.
Yankee candles.

PattyPan · 01/09/2021 08:28

I love this thread!
But heating on in August is unthinkable, are you in the Shetland Islands or something? Here in Berkshire it’s forecast to be 20 degrees still all week.

Midlands here. Goes up to 18 today but is about 14 right now. Had heating on the last 5 or so days now.

Getting wood split and organised for the upcoming autumn/winter.

Notjustanymum · 02/09/2021 11:23

Completely clean and tidy room, fire going, sidelights or candles, romcom on TV and snuggling up on the sofa with my DH and my dog with a nice cup of tea by my side.

FloconDeNeige · 02/09/2021 12:49

I’m on a Swiss mountain here and although it’s been noticeably cooler first thing (5C at 6AM), I’m currently sitting outside in full sunshine and borderline sweating!

Our main heating is a wood fireplace and we’re going to see how far into September we get before needing to lit it.

Cozy for me is a thick blanket of snow (but with no more forecast so I don’t have to shovel it in the morning), big fire, heated blanket, lights on low, book and a hot drink, with the cat lying somewhere near (but not on me, he’s 10+ kg of Maine Coon and sends your legs to sleep!)

Peace43 · 02/09/2021 13:05

Fluffy socks, light the fire, light my lamps and candles, clean fluffy blanket, fluffy dog to cuddle!

motherofcatsandbears · 02/09/2021 13:51

Freshly showered, fresh pyjamas, clean sheet and duvet cover, lots of soft blankets, lots of cats and it’s raining outside. Heaven 🥰🥰🥰

ThinWomansBrain · 02/09/2021 13:58

@Rabbitheadlights

Cup of tea, cat on lap

Window shopping on my tablet, a captivating audio book, being surrounded by flowers and plants, fluffy cardigan, fluffy slippers, fluffy cat 🐱!

Foxmylife · 02/09/2021 14:14

Tea
A blanket on the sofa
A dog or two to cuddle
Candles
A glass of wine
Cuttains shut

ZombeaArthur · 02/09/2021 14:16

Watching The Golden Girls. Warms me from the inside out.

DustyMaiden · 02/09/2021 14:20

It’s 27 degrees here. Heating not usually on until November.
I do like a blanket on the sofa and a cup of tea and watching the Chase. I am now officially really really old.

furbabymama87 · 02/09/2021 14:38

Badedas bubble bath, snuggle in front of the telly with DH and a blanket. Takeaway and cups of tea. I love salt lamp and fairy lights too.

TurquoiseDragon · 02/09/2021 14:42

Sitting in my chair, having had a shower and in clean lounge wear, with a cuppa and some crochet while TV is on.

NeverRTFT · 02/09/2021 14:45

This thread is making me feel cosy Grin

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 02/09/2021 14:47

Wax melter, lamp on, cosy blanket and my pjs on either reading or watching a tv show.

I’m in Scotland it’s definitely chillier in the mornings but not enough to put the heating on. My thermostat still reads 19 degrees inside

1forAll74 · 02/09/2021 14:49

Fluffy socks, lighting my woodburner for the first time when winter comes. Drinking hot chocolate and sitting reading a book, without any telly on all evening, and my three cats all sprawled out near my fire.

I don't have candles about, as at one time, one of my cats wafted around near a candle near the hearth, and almost set her tail on fire wafting over the flame.

Peace43 · 02/09/2021 15:10

In North Wales here and the thermostat tripped this morning to put the heating on. It's set for 18oC so it must have dropped below.. IT's a bit of a grey old day.
