To ask - Any tips for being 7 months pregnant at Xmas?

I’ll be nearly 7 months pregnant this coming Xmas - is there anything you would say to help me get through it Grin? Or is it just like normal. Obviously I won’t drink. I’m sure I’ll see a lot of OH ‘s family who I love - they’re a large family so think many siblings /nephews and nieces. - my hormones are making me broody atm so I’ll need to stay away from the babies in the family. Grin But seriously, am I likely to find Xmas much more tiring, etc?

Biscuit big wow

Hyppogriff · 28/08/2021 20:00

I’m sure you’re the only person who’s ever done that before

aaaaah · 28/08/2021 20:00

If you're feeling broody what's the problem? You're pregnant.

PostMenPatWithACat · 28/08/2021 20:00

Lots of things op.

Be organised with your cards and presents
Help with the washing up
Don't put your nose too far into the trough otherwise the weight might be hard to shift
Keep using the vit E cream in case stretch marks appear
If staying overnight take an extra pillow in case you get heartburn from the rich food
Really, really enjoy any long walks on offer

@SmidgenofaPigeon

OP this is one of MANY threads on your pregnancy already.
yep, all with the same theme of OP being the first ever pregnant woman in history
WaterBottle123 · 28/08/2021 20:01

Maybe offer to be girl Santa, as you'll have the pot belly and vigorous hair growth?

Newnameday · 28/08/2021 20:02

I'm hoping for an answer to broodiness and avoiding kids, too?!

Mamascoven · 28/08/2021 20:02

I'll be 7 months at christmas too but in Dec 2019 I gave birth 3 days after christmas day. Spent christmas day un-comfy and in pain with a toddler, a 5 year old and a house that resembled a bomb site. Now that really is something worth worrying about. You'll be fine just avoid alcohol, certain cheese's and un-cooked deli meats.

Hemingwaycat · 28/08/2021 20:03

You’re overthinking it. I was 7 months pregnant with my first at Christmas and I’d say it was actually easier than the pregnancies where I’ve been in the first trimester and just felt sick as a dog all day.

Trinacham · 28/08/2021 20:03

I'll be 8 months. Hadn't even thought about it really.

Tulipomania · 28/08/2021 20:04

DS's birthday is February, so I guess I must have been 7 months pregnant at Xmas too.

Can't remember it being any different from any other Xmas before or since.

Tulipomania · 28/08/2021 20:05

Actually I do have one piece of advice. Don't wear a scarlet jumper or people might get you confused with the fat bloke who comes down the chimney.

That is all.

Incase she steals them?!![/quote]
I was thinking she might eat them.

Heronwatcher · 28/08/2021 20:07

Erm are you Mary? Do you have to travel to Bethlehem and give birth in a stable? If so YANBU, that’s a tough gig.
If you are just a normal person who is pregnant then YABU. You get up, eat, open presents, perhaps watch queen, nap, eat again, play board game, watch strictly/ call the midwife go to bed. Which of those things do you think are not possible for a pregnant woman?

Yes. Have unprotected sex in May.

I was 12 weeks one Christmas and 16 at the next, obviously 1st trimester is different to 3rd, but after dinner at 4pm, I spent both years asleep on my in laws sofa while everyone else got drunk and loud! Don't remember a thing 😂

shouldistop · 28/08/2021 20:10

I take it you're excited op Grin

It will just be like any other Christmas except you won't be drunk and might be a bit uncomfortable.

Maybe don't watch call the midwife. It terrified me when I was pregnant!
Covidwoes · 28/08/2021 20:16

I was 37 weeks at Xmas last year. I actually enjoyed no pressure to see anyone and the fact it was just me, DH and toddler DD!

evie34 · 28/08/2021 20:18

eat extra pigs in blankets (for the baby Wink)

Tataru · 28/08/2021 20:20

I was 7 months at Christmas. Can't say I really thought about it! Just had our usual Christmas, except I had some Nosecco. Everything else was just as usual.

skodadoda · 28/08/2021 20:21

I was 7 months pregnant over Xmas 1975, alcohol wasn’t banned back then although I went off it anyway. My main problem was heartburn so couldn’t enjoy so much of the Xmas food. Apart from that, not much of a problem.

Bayleaf25 · 28/08/2021 20:24

I don't mean to be rude but I was also in this position (as I imagine were women the world over - including several of my now Mum friends), I don't remember giving it too much of a thought at the time.

AnonymousCheerleader · 28/08/2021 20:25

I wouldn't say this is the most bizarre thread I've ever seen, but it's up there.

What?

Also, it's fucking August.
