The other day I posted asking for advice about how to revamp my bathroom in my first home (first pic) and I received some really helpful comments, alongside the typical Mumsnet ones that are a) bitchy and b) unhelpful 😁

But, here is the end result! We spent no more than £150 and did it all ourselves! Yay :-)

Looks great! I love the pineapple print. I might have to post pics of my own sad bathroom as it looks like you got great advice.

Feelingmardy · 28/08/2021 19:54

The OP has included some photos of the type of thing she wanted and someone posted “I don’t mean to piss on your chips or anything but the whole grey thing is so over”

That is a nasty comment.

I didn’t see your first thread, but love what you’ve done! I think that the shape of the canvas you’ve chosen suits the room much better. All looks much more modern! Far less cluttered not having the bath mat on the floor, I’ve changed mine to white so that when I’m not using it it hangs over the bath and is hardly visible against the white bath and panel.

Only thing I’d possibly change is to swap over the position of the bin and toilet brush - bin looks a bit squashed in? But that isn’t a criticism!

DizzyLollipop82 · 28/08/2021 20:12

This is lovely, well done.

SausageRollFan · 28/08/2021 20:12

Ooo looks lovely OP.

I have a grey hallway, I did it because I like it, not because it's 'in'.

picklemewalnuts · 28/08/2021 20:14

Did you have to wire in the light/mirror? That would scare me!

Just10moreminutesplease · 28/08/2021 20:15

That looks lovely! I can’t believe you did it for just £150 Smile

GreenOwl · 28/08/2021 20:17

It looks good but I agree with those saying the bin doesn't fit any longer. I also think it needs swapping with the toilet brush.

cornflakegirl · 28/08/2021 20:31

It looks lovely. Would you mind sharing what the paint is please?

StrangeToSee · 28/08/2021 21:06

Looks much nicer and more modern.

Does it have a window?

I’d also replace the shower curtain with a screen.

I’m redecorating (paint) in greys, white and greige. Practical, works with the natural light I have, and when my sister said ‘grey’s a bit over now’ I did do this (yes, I know it’s an old image but there was a really good theatrical sigh too):

It looks fabulous!! Well done 😀and to have done it at such little cost too!

Are you needing a wee every ten minutes?

I had to go snd keep looking st mine when I did it.

mustremembertofeedthecat · 28/08/2021 22:09

Look great OP, what a transformation

Dreamstate · 28/08/2021 22:29

It looks much better my only comment is that Abington under the sink, sorry it just looks odd. The sink should be onto of the cabinet eith no gap.

I wouldnt of bothered with a cabinet the other changes improved it alot.

billy1966 · 28/08/2021 22:31

Great job.

It looks great, really fresh and with a decent amount of storage which let's face it every bathroom should have.
