Those who turned 50 last year - have you had an invite for your mammogram apt yet?

I know it’s not an AIBU question but this is a busy area so worth asking here.

I only ask as I know a couple of people who turned 50 this year (not in the same area) who have and it would be interesting to know if A, you’ve been invited since turning 50 and B, the area you live in (if possible).

I had to have surgery 10 years ago for an ‘issue’ that turned out to be benign but the result of surgery meant I had to have reconstructive surgery, so I feel a desire to have this check up.

No, and I've just chased up this week. Due next year at almost 53. Apparently missed the 3 year cut off at 49.

I live close to a county border and several friends in another county were invited at 47 whereas I wasn't until 51.

Yes, 50 last year, got invite earlier this year, had mammogram shortly after 51.

Nope not yet. I was 50 in October. I had a smear in June and asked about it and the nurse said you get invited anytime between 50 and 53.

I'm 52 and not heard anything.

I was 50 in July 2020 and I had my first mammogram before the end of last year.

It is dependent on postcode though because my boss, who's 18 months older than me but lives in the next postcode was called just after me. She was keen to have hers done too and was told people are called at 50/51/52 dependent on postcode

I was just 53 for my first, apparently goes off your GP surgery and I must have just missed the cut off point so was next time it came around 3 years later before I was called for it so I wouldn't worry about it unless you feel there is a problem, seems quite normal.

I was told that they invite all the over 50 patients in a doctor's surgery every 3 years so you could get an invite anytime between 50 and 53 depending on when the last round fell.

That's what I was told by the breast screening service when I asked!

Query it with your GP or the local clinical commissioning group.

Using Scotland and turned 50 last year, no invitation yet. I assume that’s due to covid so who knows when I will get one.

I'm 52 and had my first at 49 and second at 51. Think it's a trial here though, I'm in Essex.

I have had two done..One just after I was 47 and one this year at 52....central beds

My partner has had the poo sample request (he’s 64) but currently refusing to do it

I try to persuade him about once a week.

I received the invite the week after my birthday!

I am in London and I got an invite when I turned 48. Was not expecting that but felt quite pleased about it.

I've been yearly since 44, and covid hasn't stopped any appointments. I'm 50 next year and I'll drop to every 3 years which makes no sence as I've family history. I'm hoping to keep to yearly.

I had my first one at 47. Had my 3rd earlier this year at 54.

Yes I have and it's in three weeks time. Hit 50 last November.
