To ask about emails you've received, when someone has the same name as you but puts in your email address...

I've seen about this before, someone with the same name as you accidentally puts your email address down instead of theirs. Usually it's because there is a . involved and missed.

A few months ago I got an email from the police thanking me for my report about a covid breach (I emailed back saying the name was correct but I had not reported anyone).

Now to today. I apparently have purchased and insured a dog in America, I've also signed up for alerts for all missing dogs in the area!!! Again we have the same first name and last name, but I live in the uk and definitely don't own a dog! This is one of them emails that you cannot reply too, and the number is (of course) American. I am not calling America, so the alerts will stay. (I've had 6 emails in the last hour about registering the dog, what dog it is and how I've set these alerts up!

Over the years I've had emails for a woman in Australia, about various utility quotes. Mainly Telstra, IIRC.

Then there's another in Ireland, and hers are mainly about recruitment events in Dublin. The latest for her is to see whether or not she and her husband would consider friends of the current tenants taking over their lease in October. They're apparently very polite, presentable, and have no pets 👍🏻

I've had this issue from all around the globe.

Floridian Gingernaut is a dyed in the wool Democrat, works for NASA and has arranged luxury holidays at all inclusive spa resorts and wineries and went all out to impress young relatives - she arranged Disney princess dinners and lunches at Disney World, when they came to visit

Gingernaut in Athlone is a big supporter of charities, including my absolute favourite name for a charity which supports dwarves - The Little People of Ireland

Gingernaut in Dublin has a disappointment for a teenage son who has had multiple disciplinary issues at school. They also had a bit of a 'do' when I received and email, but the hadn't BCC the recipients.

When I REPLIED ALL with a quick note to find another way of contacting their Gingernaut, I sent an email to hundreds of people.

A third Irish Gingernaut has issues with anxiety and depression

A fourth Irish Gingernaut is a high faluting business woman who has multiple fingers in multiple pies and has had forays into politics - I've printed RyanAir stuff off and sent it to her daughter in Canary Wharf before now

Michigan Gingernaut has had issues with a large number of contractors, after a massive remodelling exercise - by now, she should have a walk in closet the size of a small bungalow.

Texas Gingernaut is a dyed in the wool Trumpian Republican, has left me collecting all sorts of spam about the vaccine, about mask mandates, but surprisingly supports March of Dimes

Rhode Island Gingernaut has signed up to an online retailer which sources odd pieces of rare dinner sets - she lives in a gated community, which Google couldn't map.

New Zealand Gingernaut used to live on the edge of a national forest and signed up to a new energy supplier with the wrong email address.

As a relict of the Cold War, there are British and Irish settlers in Germany - they and their offspring are German speakers.

German Gingernaut is a biotechnology researcher and was arranging a trip to the DRC to study genes in maize crops for her PhD

I'm used to it and I'm happy to eavesdrop and see little glimpses of other people's lives.

I forgot the long running saga of The Knights of St. Columba - Texas Gingernaut's husband used her (my) email address for his membership.

I never knew Catholic men wore KKK style robes. The pictures I got from their newsletters were utterly bizarre.

I had an email confirming somebodies holiday to Blackpool, email was one letter different
I did ring the hotel and sort it out.

The Texas Gingernaut's husband has a Sandals trip to Barbados planned for their anniversary.

I got the booking confirmation this afternoon.....
