I pictured a Paul actually.

What’s that from?

pinkcircustop · 19/08/2021 12:54

If you sent him an iMessage then deleting it on your side doesn’t delete it for him. It’s already gone.

ShinyHappySummers · 19/08/2021 12:56

If its on whatsapp you can delete for everyone.

ShinyHappySummers · 19/08/2021 12:56

But he might have read it.

ShinyHappySummers · 19/08/2021 12:56

@Malin52

I told my boss on Teams chat that he needed to put the bedlinen on a very hot wash because we'd left it a bit too long.

In my defence I was very overworked and tired and I'd teams chatted him rather than WhatsApp my DH. Blush

😂😂😂

Mum Left MORTIFIED Over Love Confession Text to Plumber - But Posters Divided Over What To Do Next.

There ya go DM journo. I wrote a headline for you in your house style.

BlossomOnTrees · 19/08/2021 13:04

I've done this sort of thing loads of times. Very easy to do, particularly on iphones

DismantledKing · 19/08/2021 13:05

@kwiksavenofrillsusername

You forgot the part where ‘a woman took to the UK parenting site Mumsnet to ask the question.’

BlossomOnTrees · 19/08/2021 13:08

Loving this thread especially the guy turning up with the tomatoes and the lady whose husband accidentally texted his boss saying he wanted a hug Grin

crispinglovershighkick · 19/08/2021 14:33

@Mykittensmittens

My DH sent a message, he thought to me;

‘Having a really testing day here. What would help, most of all, would be a massive hug from you’

And then sent it to his stern female boss who was sitting just the other side of the room.

Lol! I got an upgrade on a flight and texted dh to tell him in a big braggy (joking) way that I was sitting in a fully reclining seat drinking champagne, plus loads of kisses and whatever and accidentally sent it to someone with whom I have a rather formal relationship. It was about 3am for him and I think he already thought of me as a goofball, it was embarrassing.

Double down and send a unicorn emoji with love eyes

Oops silly me. To make up for it, here are some prewritten comments for the article:

“How is this news? Nobody cares about those silly Mumsnet women.” IcantworkouthowtocreateausernaMe, Tunbridge Wells
“What an attention seeker! Who posts this online! How dare she!” - Womanhater420, USA

So you sent your plumber a message telling him that you loved him covered in heart emojis. Then sent him a message saying that the original message wasn't for him, you don't love him but can he call you about a cock? Is that an accurate summary?
Are you on glue?
It's like one of those 70s dodgy soft porn movies: and then all his overalls fall off!

CoalCraft · 19/08/2021 15:22

Just say "Sorry, wrong [name]!" It happens and this is a reasonably tame version of it - I've seen worse!!

I sent my MUM a disgusting description of what i was going to do to new BF (now DH) that evening ShockShock

DM, a prudish woman who i have quite a cold relationship with, in her late 70s at the time, didn't even know i was in a relationship.

Readers, we live in the same village, so when i realised what i'd done i ran straight out of the house, sprinted down the road in my flip flops to DMs house. I had no idea what i was going to do! She was in the garden when i got there (summer) with the back door open, and thank fuck hadn't got the phone with her. I managed to sneak in past her and searched and found the phone, deleted the message, replaced it and sneaked back out again! I mean ..... Shock

I walked home and when i got back i found i'd ran out in such a panic i'd left my front door wide open the whole time Hmm

DH’s sister and His Best Friend’s GF have the same first name, let’s say Jess, and a couple of years ago I’d arranged via Whatsapp for us to meet his sister at a Christmas Market. So we’re waiting at the designated meeting spot and the wrong Jess came around the corner. Initially, I thought, oh what a coincidence before realising my mistake and styling it out, trying not to let on my surprise, but of course DH then blurts out what a surprise it was to see her and that we were waiting for his sister… 😂 After explaining my mistake, I had to reassure her a few times that we weren’t disappointed to see her!

So yeah, it is entirely possible to mix up chats from people with the same name. That’s why DH is in my phone as his very unique nickname, well that and the fact that for a very long time I couldn’t actually pronounce his proper name. 🤦‍♀️
