To think John Nettles ...

...is really rather sexy in Midsomer Murders.
Is this something I can repeat outloud in public?
Anyone else have an eye for him or any other actor not usually considered 'hot'?

The episode now on ITV3 has the new Barnaby actor cast as a gardener who's shagging the posh lady of the house. He has just asked Joyce her name. It's like a parallel universe.

I always loved MM for a bit of relaxing TV (with the murder). I had a thing for Troy for a while and my mum couldn't believe it, said he was "wet".

I think it was because he just seemed like a decent bloke who wouldn't mess you about. Life might be a little dull with him though. I swiftly realised he was the antithesis to my ex and that was the attraction.

I am so annoyed to realise that case histories was a series, I've just finished the books and would have loved to watch them.

We're partway through the first series of Case Histories. I think (not 100% sure) it's on Britbox, don't know if it's available on other services. Amanda Abbington as the DI, works well.

I remember that!

I also once saw him in pantomime at the Palace Theatre in Manchester as the Sherrif of Nottingham. Les Dawson was playing the dame.

I must admit I had a bit of a pash for him in Bergerac. For years. Got some of them on DVD somewhere. It was Al so wonderful 80s.

I liked Midsomer Murders but was over him a bit by then so never followed it greatly. Good fun though.

Sykes was such a cute, clever dog. I miss him although Paddy is cute too.
Oh I loved Sykes. Absolutely adorable.

I'm and extra old person and I loved the Liver Birds. Never realised that he was in it (John Nettles, not Sykes) but I've googled it and yes, he was.

I think it's safe to say, he's improved with age.

Oh, yes, I definitely remember him as Sandra's boyfriend, Paul, in the Liver Birds! And the lovely Molly Sugden as Sandra's mum!
I watched every single episode of Bergerac, but have never seen Midsomer Murders.

John Nettles always reminded me of my dad. So no, not hot as far as I'm concerned Grin.

I do have an array of 'odd' crushes though, and rarely fancy the supposedly sexy actors.

He's from my home town and my mum had a huge crush on him when he was in Bergerac.
She was a receptionist in a solicitors office that was also the registry office and he came in one day to register his mum's death.
My mum was gutted that the one time she met him she couldn't fan girl over him and had to remain professional.

I didn't mind admitting that I find JN attractive. Even though I'm only just 40. I'm totally ashamed that I've developed a crush on Dantdm though 😂
