Had a few drinks.
Went to McDonald's.
About 11pm.
Bitmg group of youths. And they had a baby less than 1 Yr old in a car seat. It went on and on and the babys needs were being ignored. I called 111 and they shut me down and treated me like an idiot
I've gone home in tears for that poor little girl and how no one would help her

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop it wasn't poor parenting? Ok. I didn't realise you were there yourself

Findmeatthebeach · 15/08/2021 22:16

OP you are really getting piled on here. None of us were there and if you felt like it was a safeguarding matter then you did the right thing to act on it, although obviously 101 would have been a better number. I would ignore this thread now if I were you, you made a judgement call with a child's best interests at heart. You didn't do anything wrong.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 15/08/2021 22:23

@DickDastardly my judgement is based on absolutely no examples from a (both drunk and sober) OP about why the baby's needs weren't being met. She was extremely drunk and judging parents for simply being young so I'm going to draw the conclusion that the baby was absolutely fine and the OP was being an over emotional pisshead and righteous little grasser - not that she did grass, she was so drunk she called for medical help rather than the police. Hardly someone whose word I'd take as gospel

chalamet · 15/08/2021 22:28

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop totally agree with all your posts!

DickDastardly · 15/08/2021 22:32

Is that how we refer to concerned period who report the potential mistreatment of children? ' little grassers'

This tells me all I need to know about you

DickDastardly · 15/08/2021 22:33

*people

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 15/08/2021 22:36

She wasn't concerned she was being judgmental and extremely drunk. She hasn't said a single reason as to why she was concerned other than Pearl clutching about 'youths' (shock horror sometimes teenagers become parent and, bigger shock, they're allowed to go out with their baby)

A bit alarmed you'd take the word of a drunk person who can't even tell us why the baby's needs weren't being met.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 15/08/2021 22:46

The way I read the post was that there was a big bunch of teenagers out late at night randomly with a baby in a car seat just hanging out with them. Which seems very weird and I would be a little concerned.

DickDastardly · 15/08/2021 22:49

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop I'm not taking the word of anyone.

I'm highlighting that we should all be vigilant towards potential child abuse or mistreatment.

You're clearly of a differing opinion as is your right. I judge you for it but that doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable - which you clearly are.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 15/08/2021 22:58

@DickDastardly I really couldn't care less if you judge me, sorry not sorry

I'm not taking the word of anyone.

So if you're not taking OP's word why do you believe this child was in danger? Or do you think all children by default are in danger unless the parents prove otherwise?

I'm highlighting that we should all be vigilant towards potential child abuse or mistreatment.

Agreed - but looking at a perfectly safe and fine, but simply unusual, situation with a child is in is not 'highlighting child abuse' in any way shape or form. All OP has done is wasted 111's time. There were obviously no safeguarding concerns and I don't think we should trust the instinct of random highly emotional drunks

@SmidgenofaPigeon

@newnortherner111 you want takeaways not to open at night confused

Newnortherner thinks wearing leggings is a gateway to obesity and denial, so I wouldn't worry too much about this odd opinion Grin

No worries, op. I was wondering what "Bitmg" meant but it doesn't matter.

Sleep well.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 15/08/2021 23:15

This place gets weirder and weirder.

VodselForDinner · 16/08/2021 15:32

Lots of judgement from someone who was pissed in McDonald’s on a Sunday night.
