Christ on a bike. Teenagers and towels. I love my children dearly but for the fact they leave towels on the floor. I have so much on my plate I'm trying not to transfer to them and rant at them... but god its fucking infuriating isn't it.

We have a towel radiator. Dh REFUSES to hang towels on it and will use the side of the bath tub instead. Openly admits he prefers to do this . Not as aggravating as floor dumping but irritating nonetheless.

I have young children so no terms yet but DH is useless and thinks it’s fine to leave wet towels scrunched up on the end of the ironing board. Takes my dry towel off rail and if I forget to check before I get in the shower then I end up dripping wet with no towel. He always chastises me for not checking first as he brings me a replacement damp towel. Drives me insane!!

And if I wash and dry the towels he will just get a new one each time so there’s then like 4 towels hung or scrunched in various places

From about 7 I made my Ds stop what he was doing and literally stand over him to put the towel back on the rail. I did this for so long it worked and he never leaves them on the floor. It's a shame I stopped there though as he dumps all his clothes on the floor and his room is a tip.

@Mybalconyiscracking

Mine have both got grade 7 GCSEs in physics, but still can’t grasp the concept of turning off a light switch..
Love this. Mine has grade 9 physics and still can't. You are not alone.

What you mean, you can actually get a slot in the bathroom to have a shower?

I'm reduced to waiting until she is out. Still I'm comforted by news headline this morning that you shouldn't shower every day as it harms your skin...Blush

@flameycakes

Mine cannot seem to grasp putting things back from where they got them. They will get the cordial out of cupboard, make a drink and not put it away. Drives me barmy.
This.

And asking me 'where is x mum?'

Magically I generally always know where it is.
Is it preprogrammed into our brains as a skill?

@DonLewis

I bought some lovely new hand towels a few weeks ago. My husband said, quick as a flash, they'll look great on the bathroom floor.
Oh fab. Sense of humour the best qualification for a DH with teenagers.

My 21 has just gained his Civil Engineering degree but when he hangs out washing (under protest) the clothes are all skew-wiff

Bottoms from the top, tops from the bottom
Hang the clothes so the seams are straight
Fold over a centimetre or two , not half over , gives more exposed area :air ratio

He does use matching pegs though to his credit Grin

But his wonky hanging effort , seriously , do your bridges look like that Matey ?

@Twiceover

DD2 always hangs up her towel. DD1 one never does. And then if she has the first shower she takes DD2's nicely hung up dry towel and uses it leaving her with the scrumpled up, damp one. Makes poor DD2 furious.
Why on earth would DD2 use her sister's soggy towel? In fact I don't even know why DD1 would use her sister's dry towel. I wouldn't use anyone else's. My mum never allowed us to use towels more than once so we never had to hang up towels. I do use them several times for environmental reasons but would not use anyone else's towel.
Bollindger · 13/08/2021 10:02

I stopped doing my DDs washing. I left towels in her room, and shut the door.
She actually knows it is bad and if she spreads anywhere else, I call her and make her move it.
Loving that at uni, I won't have her mess to look at.
