Have included diagram. House 1 are not included in bin-gate

House 2 for several years have been putting their bins on House 3's drive way. House 3 with the previous resident would keep their bin literally mm from the front door. House 3 = newest resident and now have a second black bin. Since moving in House 3 have been wanting to keep their bins on their driveways.

House 4 usually keep their bins by the alleyway and not on the drive.

House 3 started putting their bins on their driveway so House 2 have started putting theirs on House 4's driveway.

House 3 keeps returning to House 4 having placed all the bins on their driveway. House 3 got confronted by House 4 and pointed out they are House 2's bins so it is perhaps one to take up with them.

House 4 and House 2 have both taken up issue with House 3 about how it has always worked until they arrived and that it was fine when the previous resident kept her bin by the front door. Now House 3 has 2 black bins they won't fit regardless, plus it is fairly grim to have the bin that close to the front door everytime going in and out. House 3 also has an autistic child who has a tendancy to lick bins. House 3 just wants to use their own driveway to put their own bins on.

Is House 3 being unreasonable and should just suck up the situation to avoid messing up the status quo? Should this should be an issue between House 4 and House 2?

Why dont you say they can leave them on your drive for £10 per week per bin .

Ddot · 19/08/2021 20:00

Cheap say £25

Ddot · 19/08/2021 20:02

Go buy some bike locks and fasten to something on their drive eg drain pipe, fence. Take photo of face for MN

BritishSummertime · 19/08/2021 22:24

It's definitely the right thing to put this back onto 4, by returning the bins to 2 you were making 4's life too easy.

I like the chalk idea PP suggested, maybe get some local kids to help as well 😁

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 19/08/2021 22:26

Have you a ddog op? Put copious amounts of shit in each bin. Every time they open it they will retch.
And have to pay for it cleaned...

Ddot · 20/08/2021 10:17

Just because the old tenants didn't mind their drive looking like a bin cupboard, does not entitle the neighbours to assume the new tenants OP will have the same mindset. Put a polite note through every house, say I understand that all the bins used to reside at no * but this is no longer the situation so please keep your own bin on your own property. Please be aware that any bins left on my property after tomorrow will be confiscated and disposed of as appropriate by the council. Thankyou. If bins still there, contact council say you seem to have several bins and only need one can you please collect or can I give away to needy families

@honeybuns007

Latest update is confusing.
I think the photos may have been switched or in a rage OP may have got the numbers (or bins) round the wrong way but she now has 7 bins on her driveway.

Stick your number on all of them OP, then call the council and say you've got too many bins and can they come and collect some!

Or under the cover of darkness, slip out in black clothing and, as quietly as possible, which admittedly is impossible with a wheelie bin), wheel them off in to the next road. But as PPs have said - add locks to your own bins first so they can't use them!

BruceAndNosh · 20/08/2021 14:51

Has the OP moved from house 3 to 4?

NumberTheory · 20/08/2021 14:55

@BruceAndNosh

Has the OP moved from house 3 to 4?
Probably just fudging some details in an attempt not to be recognised.

@Mumofsend any updates, where are the bins right now?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/08/2021 19:45

I used to have a wobble about House of Fraser because of customer service, it was like they had a split personality, either lovely or really, really off. But they've closed down (and I think left Ireland entirely) so that fixed that for me.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/08/2021 19:46

What???? Sorry, wrong thread.

Although, I'm also interested in how the bin stand off is going. Grin
