To cringe at the term "sex toys"?

I hate the 'toy' aspect of it. Toys are for children. Sex is for adults.

the old fashioned term used to be sex aids....which is awful sounding too but sex toys has become the general term these days.

AIBU?

Has anyone altered the church elders yet?! This sort of debauchery simply cannot be allowed to continue!

Sex props?

Marriage unpleasantness tools?

Items of night-time Shenanigans?

Plastic bed weapons?

They're called sex toys because 1) they are used for sexual purpose (the "sex" part and 2) you have fun with them (the "toy" part). Not sure why anyone would get a vibrating butt plug confused with a child's toy, to be honest.

Sex aids or marital aids are obviously not good terms, AIDS is an STD after all and would not get most people in the right mood.

"Muff rod" or "cunt poker" might be used instead of "dildo" but you still need an overall term for all sex toys.

I AM the church elder! Grin Couldn't you work that out by my post!

I approve of @Mysterian and their idea of calling them
"Marriage Unpleasantness Tools"

This neatly describes what they're for whilst acknowledging the awfulness of THAT activity.

Not that I'd allow the things over MY threshold of course. No. There's no need for that sort of thing in my home.

In fact anything pertaining to "it" is burned on sight. I haven't had a television or a sausage in the house for decades.

I feel if they are going to be called 'toys' they should have wheels on so they can be pushed about on the carpet.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if some of them do!
