To think nothing does actually tame frizzy hair?

cultkid · 31/07/2021 08:29

I have fluffy type hair and it only ever looks truly smooth if I go to a hair salon
Ive recently had a blunt cut and I would like my hair to look more tidy.
What can I use? I've tried quite a lot of products
Ive also got extensions in to add to the drama

Thank you

I have started buying Living Proof anti frizz products and they really work.

I actually look like I have salon hair.

I also use dyson hairdryer and straighteners so it's a combination of all 3 things that have liberated my hair

Fieldsoftripe9 · 31/07/2021 13:20

Buy some cocochoco keratin treatment on amazon and do a Brazilian blowout yourself for £30 for 2/3 uses out of the pot.

Makes even the frizziest hair smooth!

ZaraW · 31/07/2021 13:23

Keratin treatment left my hair so limp and sad looking. It was greasy after two days. I usually wash my hair twice a week.

Colour Wow left it a stringy mess.

L'Oréal Steampod 3 is great, smooth shiny hair and holds up well against humidity.

You have curly hair. Only dry your hair on a cooler heat with a diffuser. Use ASIAM coconut co wash.

Spritz with some argan oil swished into some water each day.

I’ve recently starting using the Olaplex products and although expensive, it has tamed all the frizz and looks very sleek and shiny.

which keratin treatment was that? How long did you then have to wait for it to wear off? I have heard that it lasts about 3 months - is that right?

Color Wow doesn't help my hair either, just makes it feel grim. Glad I only bought the mini bottle to try it!

Gardenwalldilema · 31/07/2021 13:36

I started with salon Brazilian blow dries a few years ago, revolutionised my hair.
Now I DIY with a purple box from Amazon, its a bit of a pig to do, but its only once a quarter so I live with it

Thecazelets · 31/07/2021 13:37

I use a brand called Brazilian Straight - it's about £26 on Amazon. I get 2 or 3 treatments out of one pack so I don't have to buy it very often.

ferneytorro · 31/07/2021 14:07

Keratin treatment at a hairdressers. It’s like having different hair.

justasking111 · 31/07/2021 14:12

Air dry hair run uber wide tooth comb through bit chilly in the winter . I wet in the morning under shower if I'm not washing

First one was Keragreen "organic" and then QOD. Mine lasted about four months. I was put off as formaldehyde is released even though some claims it is formaldehyde free. Also, I know people who have been using keratin treatments for a long time and it has caused their hair to snap.

SCMocha · 31/07/2021 15:32

I was looking at the Nano-Smooth pure treatments, though that also says no formaldehyde or anything is released -not sure how true it is. The ones with no formaldehyde apparently don't straighten as much, but that's OK, it's the smoothing I'm after, wouldn't mind keeping some curl. That might be one of the other treatments the article mentions, more for smoothness and shine than straightening.

Olaplex and Dyson straigteners

@icedcoffees - my hairdressers description of my hair is "it's fine but there's a lot of it"! But it is oily, which is awkward because there are no products for wavy/curly hair that's oily, the assumption is that it is dry.
A lot of people doing curly girl say only wash your hair once a week but I do mine every day mostly. OGX apple cider shampoo and coconut curl conditioner are my absolute favourite products.

Sandinmyknickers · 31/07/2021 18:41

Another vote for hair oil. The loreal one (extraordinary oil I think its called) its pretty good, simple (just a few squirts on wet hair). It makes such a difference.
Also, try not shampooing so much and use co-wash instead (co wash is like a cleansing conditioner that cleans your hair without stripping it and drying it out). As I Am does a good co wash and you get a massive tub of it on amazon

I wash my hair daily because of sports. Co wash changed my life lol

Thanks so much! Are the shampoo and conditioner both OGX?

I definitely need to wash my hair daily as I'm a dog walker and I come home a sweaty mess, normally covered in mud, slobber and dog hair Grin

It's probably not ideal for my hair type but I'm not really prepared to leae it any longer when it stinks of sweat, rain and all sorts!

Anyone with frizzy and thin hair?
Any products I use end up leaving my hair very greasy looking :(

Mummybasketball · 01/08/2021 01:35

You most likely have curly/wave hair. Research it

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 01/08/2021 01:40

When you know let me Lol. My hair is so fine that curly girl just doesn’t work well

Rebeccasmoonnecklace · 01/08/2021 01:54

Percy and Reeds Wonder Balm is the only thing that helps me with my hair and doesn’t leave it looking a greasy mess. They also do a Wonder Balm that you leave in overnight.

user1473878824 · 01/08/2021 02:03

I have (what I thought…) was wavy hair that’s quite fine but properly done blow dries very well. I can’t do this myself so am surgically attached to my Babyliss Big Hair. I let it dry naturally for the first time in god knows how long today and it was actually really curly and nice but I think that’s the use of the Kérastase Elixir Ultime L'Original Hair Oil (capitals and fancy bits from a copy and paste!) and also using a Dock & Bay hair wrap instead of a towel which I love.

tillytown · 01/08/2021 04:14

If you have wavy, frizzy, fine, fly away hair try Schwarzkopf Gliss leave in conditioner. It costs £2 in Wilko and is amazing, it has completely changed how I do my hair, just spray on towel dried hair and brush through, that's it. If anyone is going go try it, I use the liquid silk one in the pink bottle.

HandlebarLadyTash · 01/08/2021 04:21

I buy a home keratin treatment approx £15 from Amazon, stinks but worth it. Apply approx 8-12 weeks really helps.
