To think plenty of women will be seen in public/photos without makeup?

I hate memes you see going round saying stuff like 'Show me a woman who'll put a photo online without makeup on.... I'll wait!'

I mean, yes, there are some women who won't and some who may not go in public or be pictured without it absolutely trowelled on (and that's OK, they're free to do that), but I do think plenty of women will go out or share pictures of themselves un-made-up. It's not even an 'Oooh, she's brave' thing, plenty of women don't even think about sharing a photo of themselves without makeup because most of the time they're not wearing any.

I feel I have to put on a bit of makeup for acne scars. Look very hideous otherwise. Still hideous with makeup but a little less so. Don't use Facebook or Instagram.

I don’t wear make up most of the time. I don’t wear it for work although I probably should as I look like a ghost without a big if colour.

Maybe once a week tops I’ll put it on. Just can’t be arsed

I haven't worn makeup for about 15 years. I rarely wore it before I gave it up. I hate the feel of it on my face and I'm allergic to so much of it that I refuse to play dice with it.

Anything that says “I’ll wait..” in this context gives me the ick!

I don’t even know how to do ‘make-up’
If I have a spot(s) I use a bit of concealer. I also have an eyeliner. Think I’ve got some eyeshadow from 15yrs ago but never could get it right 😂

I'll go to the supermarket or run an errand without make upon but generally I prefer myself with it.

Why not make yourself look better if you can?

I don’t even own any makeup! So 99% of photos of me online are without makeup (there’s some photos of formal events where I did wear some) and I go out every day without makeup on. I’m 26.

Oh and the reasons why I don’t wear makeup:

1. Avoiding endocrine disrupting chemicals
2. I have eczema on my face so foundation looks crap
3. I am extremely pale and find it impossible to get foundation that matches my skin and actually provides coverage of blemishes
4. DP prefers me without it
5. I like my face how it is 🤷‍♀️

I genuinely don't own a single item of makeup. Never wear it, never have.

I really love makeup but only wear it when going somewhere special or if I randomly get the urge. I just can't be bothered with the effort of taking it off. I think I look pretty nice without makeup at least.

I do have a friend who wouldn't go outside her front door without makeup, I wish I had her energy for grooming to be honest...

I think @Hardbackwriter is pretty accurate that you tend to either move with a crowd who all wear makeup or one that generally doesn't.

Nb, I did say in my OP there are women who won't be seen without it and those who won't be seen without it trowelled on - I didn't want to imply that all make up wearing is like that.

Personally I like reserving makeup for looking nice in a night out. When we we're in the office I tended to wear light makeup as we're a smart dress office and I've reached an age where it doesn't look quite right to be in something smart and not be a bit made up I found. But I certainly don't mind if I don't have time to do it and most pics of me online are sans make up because so am I most of the time.
