To want to get a breast reduction at size 32F?

Just wanted some advice because I don’t know if I’m overreacting, as I don’t think my breasts particularly stand out as that large when you look at me.
I have a toddler and I know the recovery can be a while, so I know I’ll be out of action when it comes to picking her up and playing with her etc which makes me wonder if it’s definitely worth it.
I’m a 32F and the only people I’ve heard of getting reductions are usually a few sizes bigger (or I could just be very uneducated about this)
I’m quite a small build and my breasts just make me look a lot bigger - not to mention all the back and neck pain. I find buying clothes a complete nightmare and exercising is hard too. I’ve been going back and forward about this operation for a while now.
Anyone else had it done around my size?

Thanks 🙂

If you aren't sure could you get one done and see how you feel about it?

Have you checked that youre in the right size so properly supported. As neck and back pain can be caused by your breasts being held up by bra straps rather than lifted up by the band

PickAChew · 27/07/2021 00:21

I'm 32GG and not that big Confused

🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you have back and neck pain and find you can't exercise easily, why wouldn't you speak to your GP about this?

I would advise you to use advanced search as there have been a lot of threads about big boobs recently, but sadly they were all started by a troll so they were deleted...

Annie115 · 27/07/2021 00:23

@Branleuse thanks, have been measured at Bravissimo and Rigby and Peller - so hopefully.

My aunt had this done after 4 children. She had problems with her back. I would say wait if you want more children as it impacts the ability to breastfeed. FWIW my aunt is very happy and feels a lot better. I don't know what was her exact size but she had a very large chest. She looked very slim after surgery compared to before.

I'm a 30FF and quite slim but I don't get back pain. Like a PP asked, are you wearing the correct size bra (try going down a back size as that should be the supportive bit, not the straps).

Saying that, if your boobs are making you unhappy then that's a valid reason for a reduction. I'm not sure how the NHS criteria works so you'd need to check that out before going to the GP.

Annie115 · 27/07/2021 00:32

Thanks everyone - just for context I can’t have anymore kids, so not worried about breastfeeding and have private work medical which should cover it should I decide to go ahead.

I'm a 36DD and having a reduction in November - I can't wait. It doesn't matter what other people think about whether your boobs are big enough for a reduction. If you want it, do it! X

Hey babe I’m a g pm me if you’d like to chat 😁 xx

Blimey, you’re busy. You were a nanny on another thread a minute ago Hmm

fallfallfall · 27/07/2021 00:58

i got a reduction at 60 and should have done it decades ago.
don't put it off, if your not happy and it interferes with your life this bs that there is a "perfect bra" is a waste of time and money.

the down time is not long. and it even fresh post op you can putter about to some extent.
i went private and live in another country so not too helpful on pricing or dr.'s. but procedure wise feel free to ask away.

I know someone a while back, who had 10lbs of breast tissue and fluid removed with a breast reduction! She had been in so much pain for years physically and mentally.

She had to go abroad to have the surgery done as the NHS wouldn’t touch her because she was overweight by, yep, 10lbs. She physically could not exercise because her breasts were too large to even fit a sports bra comfortably.

She’s up to the eyeballs in debt now, but she wouldn’t change it for the world. She went from a 36K to a DD. She’s now confident and she’s even working again! (She struggled with employment previously in direct relation to her appearance and the pain)

My teenage daughter (15)is now 34E-at 5'9-it looks completely balanced, but unfortunately she really struggles with them&that they 'get in the way'and are too uncomfortable..she wears tops which are designed for high impact, compressor tops-for when shes out and about and a regular support crop at home/lounging..so maybe you could go that route if surgery /recovery is a bit extreme..im a humble 34c so not ever had to consider things like this beforeHmm

Asherline · 27/07/2021 02:02

You shouldn't have to put up with pain get them sorted to what you are happy with. Does make you realize how no one really has the perfect breast size. Small chested women want bigger boobs and bigger breasted women have health issues, and no one is perfectly perky for long .

Back21970 · 27/07/2021 02:18

I am a 32G and would like to be a bit smaller but too much of a coward to consider surgery. As I get older I find being that big makes me look frumpy in a lot of clothes, would ideally like to go down a couple of cup sizes, never understand people who get enlargements but everybody is different. If you are brave enough and have the funds then go for it

Ginqueen1 · 27/07/2021 06:30

I was a 32F and had a reduction a few weeks ago. The surgeon said I will end up being a full C to a small D when fully recovered. They don’t like to give definite cup sizes as you could be a c in marks and Spencer’s and then a D in another brand. I recovered very quickly and was doing great until I got an infection and it set me back a few weeks. I still am so glad I got it done the pain in my back neck and shoulders is gone, clothes fit so much better and everyone is telling me I look so much slimmer. It would be tough with a toddler though as you cannot lift them up and I would imagine rest as much but if you had someone at home to give you a hand for a few weeks you should be ok.

ShadowInVain · 27/07/2021 06:40

YANBU. If I could afford it, I would do it like a shot and would go as small as possible - an A cup if it could be done. Big boobs bring nothing but pain and misery, and as pps have said, they make you look frumpy. I have to wear a bra 24/7. Imagine being able to sleep bra-less without your boobs getting trapped in your armpits ...

MissSmiley · 27/07/2021 06:44

I'm a 32FF and they aren't that big, I'm 5'3 and they're my best feature, still perky at 48 after 5 kids, I exercise loads and they cause me no bother at all, could something else be causing your back pain?
I'm not against surgery, I had a tummy tuck after my twins

ShadowInVain · 27/07/2021 06:49

never understand people who get enlargements

I think it's a case of 'the grass is always greener'.

I remember reading an article about a woman who'd had her breasts significantly enlarged. She was very slim. She regretted it when she found she could no longer fit into size 8 clothing and had to buy 16s to accommodate her boobs.

MissSmiley · 27/07/2021 06:49

Also, just to add when my kids were little I had terrible back pain from picking them up all the time, carrying them etc, could you try to improve your core strength, get a regular massage, something to help the muscles?

Lunaballoonabear · 27/07/2021 07:00

I had one 15 years ago went from GG to D have now settled at F but it’s all much more in proportion.

My reasons were the same, I couldn’t run, had to hold them to stop the bouncing regardless of the bra I wore, the straps dug into my shoulders, I was fortunate not to have too much back pain, probably as I’ve always swam a lot but I know I would be crippled with it now if I hadn’t had the op.

I had the op on the NHS, the reason they agreed it was nothing to do with the serious health issues above, but because my right boob was bigger than the left and apparently symmetry is important (it’s not!)

Happy to answer any questions if you need.

newnortherner111 · 27/07/2021 07:06

It is a significant operation and not to be taken lightly so I think you should look at all options.

malificent7 · 27/07/2021 07:10

I'm thinking of having one done...im a 36E butvthey are massive and people just see my tits before anything else. Its annoying
