I hate it. But I’ve had a lot of surgery (non comestic) in this area so looking at non surgical options. Fat freezing ? Cool sculpt? Can I just stick my stomach in a bucket of ice every night - would that work?

Not sure but I'm planning a tummy tuck in a few years for mine. Think it's around the £2000 mark so will save that up

TomsNooks · 25/07/2021 21:16

If it is skin, there is little you can do apart from cut it off.

I have one. I just tuck it into my big knickers.

MorriseysGladioli · 25/07/2021 21:18

Mine hangs out the leg holes of my big knickers. Sad

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 25/07/2021 21:18

Constant fungal infections. Nothing strong enough to help. “We could find an anti fungal strong enough to kill all fungal infections but it would also kill all life on earth “

So I live with constant fungal infections in the folds

ZednotZee · 25/07/2021 21:21

After 5 c sections I'm not getting a tummy tuck either.
Mine is like a small bump now I am at a low BMI but it will never truly disappear

wizzywig · 25/07/2021 21:22

£2000?! Where? I paid £6000 in a UK hospital a few years back

jackstini · 25/07/2021 21:30

@Maydaybankholiday where could you get one for £2k?? Shock

My friend just had a mini tuck and it was £4.5k

OP - I am looking into vaser lipo as I don't want any option involving general anaesthetic - got a consultation tomorrow so will post back!

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 25/07/2021 21:35

Tummy tucks can be 2-3k in places like lithuania etc.
In the uk it varies from 6-9k

Maydaybankholiday · 25/07/2021 21:41

Maybe I've seen prices from £2k then. Looked at a few Scottish clinics
Skyechasemarshalontheway · 25/07/2021 21:44

Nowhere in scotland does a full tummy tuck for 2k. I live here and had a tummy tuck 4 months ago. Lipo can be from 2k but tummy tucks are not. Mini tummy tucks at about 4k but not suitable for most people.

Maydaybankholiday · 25/07/2021 21:53

Arg better start saving now then! I lost loads of weight so it's the wrinkly skin I'm left with now whereas last year it was fat + skin and was far less wrinkled looking if that makes sense! Now it's like a deflated balloon.

Siameasy · 25/07/2021 22:06

I became very thin before my wedding and I still had the stomach pouch. So weight loss only helps to a degree.
I’m pale skinned so I just use fake tan on it it makes it look nicer

MozzchopsThirty · 25/07/2021 22:09

I'm still toying with this!

Was looking at tummy tuck with lipo £7-8k
But holding off as we're about to move into a new home

It depresses the shit out of me, I exercise 5x per week and eat really well mon-Thursday
It never shifts, in fact I feel like it's getting worse Sad

Come back and report on the vaser lipo please

Yummymummy2020 · 25/07/2021 22:16

Same I hate mine since my second it literally is like an apron!!

TreeSmuggler · 26/07/2021 09:06

I wouldn't do the fat freezing thing, potential outcome is the "stick of butter" effect, look it up and you'll be Shock.

CrunchyKnot · 26/07/2021 15:17

Thanks everyone.jackstini please keep us posted

Back from consultation and they have given 2 options for me:

To get to an ideal look naked, I would need vaser lipo and a full tummy tuck - likely cost approx £9k. I am really not keen on the whole general anaesthetic, massive cut, 4-6 weeks recovery though

They could remove around 4 inches of fat and I would have a huge improvement in looking better/thinner in clothes, but they were honest and said there would be loose skin left. For size of my paunch I need 3 areas, cost £5.1k

Need to have a big think!

Am probably going to post some pics from my phone - 1, in case it helps anyone in a similar state & 2, would really appreciate opinions!

jackstini · 26/07/2021 16:53

Ok v embarrassed and please be kind (marker pen is different areas!)

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 26/07/2021 22:05

Jack i would go for the full tummy tuck or you might not feel much better. The recovery isn't as bad as people think. I had a breast reduction and tummy tuck at the same time and flew home from lithuania on the 5th day after the op.

jackstini · 26/07/2021 22:43

Thanks @Skyechasemarshalontheway

I was thinking it would be as bad as c-section

Am really not keen in my mind on a GA and full surgery - it feels out of my comfort zone to do for cosmetic reasons - but wondering if I should do the second best thing or just leave it!

Although I hate it!!

jackstini · 26/07/2021 22:45

Also confirmed I have rectus diastasis so need exercises for the top part of my abdomen to change (& the crunches I have been doing actually make it worse) Sad

CrunchyKnot · 27/07/2021 08:37

Jackstini - thank you for sharing. Fwiw I think you look fab and don’t need anything doing x

OP posts:
Ladywinesalot · 27/07/2021 08:58

I don’t think it’s that bad.
I think you need to lose weight and tone up rather then a tummy tuck.

Can you hire a Personal trainer? Would be cheaper then a tummy tuck.

Essentialironingwater · 27/07/2021 09:11

Jackstini it doesn't look like aprons as I know them. I knew a lady growing up (friends mum) who after 3 kids was size 8 but had just empty skin. If I were you I'd give it some time with diet and exercise and see what the outcome is as the skin might well be better than you thought?

Essentialironingwater · 27/07/2021 09:12

Also if you could get a PT who specialises in diastasis recti your whole stomach should pull in.
