Just that really.

Staying in a roadside hotel on the way on holiday, up early and long drive so trying to have a short lie down and knocking on the window. I go to have a look and a small child is there. I said don't do that I was trying to sleep. She blames her sister and then ran off. Just to clarify, I did not shout, I was not angry but I was stern.

Next thing I know I've got the mum knocking on my door shouting at me telling me there just be something wrong with me because they're just kids and I had to right to tell her off. Did I never do that as a kid etc etc. Apparently child was in tears.

Was I just being grumpy and tired or should I really not have said anything?

Tricky one as we used to do it down our street, so i personally wouldn't have a leg to stand on with that one, fine to tell them off if you never played it however!

YANBU and if the child is that small the Mum should have been supervising her child.

The little buggers round here used to knock my door almost every evening. Eventually I hid behind the front door and looked through the spy hole until I saw them coming. Just before they knocked I swung the door open and shouted "GOT YOU!" Unfortunately I scared them so much that they all slipped over trying to get away and landed in a heap on the grass
