I think there are people isolating, doing LFT and not reporting results, and choosing not to officially test, because of the knock on effect it would have on their friends/family/children's school mates.

Yep. People at work saying it’s “just a cold” when they have no way of knowing if our manager won’t enforce it, not sure what else we can do.

Yes there are. My teens were telling me about people they knew who had suspicions they might have covid, but weren't going to test because they didn't want to have to isolate.

Tons of people. I think a lot of people have given up with it all now.

I think there are a lot of things going around that are not Covid, including the cough and mucus virus my toddler has just had. We were both tested before going on the ward, as he ended up in hospital.

If I'm totally honest I have lost track of what the symptoms are aside from the loss of taste/smell, temp and fatigue.

Even people with the common symptoms eg a cough don’t seem to want to accept they could have it.

I have friends terrified to test in case it scuppers their holiday plans. No one with nailed on classic covid symptoms but certainly some who would have erred on the side of testing before but who aren’t now.

Of course there are people not testing. Thousands still don't believe it's real. You can report a LFT result without doing a test.

But the large majority seem to be doing what they should.

Yes I imagine there are people with mild symptoms who are not testing and are still going about their daily life.

Oh goodness, loads I imagine. I know several people who wouldn't bother testing even if they did have symptoms.

Why do you think the majority of people is happy to inconvenience themselves for the sake of others?

Of course people don't want an official diagnostic of covid if they can avoid it, and quite a lot have refused to follow an restrictions or guidelines for months.

Well people could be putting others lives at risk. I’ve had to cancel my birthday plans and holiday to isolate but still tested when I should

Our DD's BF has got it. As a result, we've been isolating for 10 days.

He's not remotely unwell, just feels a little tired, and has a low grade headache. Certainly no fever, no cough, nothing that would have ever made him test........ he only found it as his workplace does random testing. Several other colleagues tested positive too, all with the same experience.

Without that test, we'd have just carried on regardless.

Yup three of my neighbours all had positive lateral flows stayed at home for a few days then went around as normal. Kids still went to school which ended up with only 20 kids In as all the bubbles burst.

Of course there will be, this will always have been the case.
It will be a mix of people who can’t afford to isolate, people who genuinely (or maybe just optimistically) think that the mild and short lived fever they/their DC had doesn’t warrant a test, dicks who just don’t care, and people who don’t believe in it.

Not many people know this is a symptom. I'm sure there are plenty of people who just feel a bit rough and don't test. There are plenty of people who have no symptoms at all and who are still positive.

Do you think every person in the country is following the rules? They never were, even back last spring. Some people don't want to miss work for financial reasons, some don't want to make their household isolate, some are just selfish and don't want to stop their lives.

Yes, people can't afford to take the time away from work etc.

I imagine so, at this point. Especially those who are otherwise healthy and who have only mild symptoms.

I know of loads of people who have had coughs and sniffles and the odd sneeze and carried on as normal without testing. It’s just a cold, or hay fever, or their asthma etc etc

until last week, you needed a test to send the kids to school (if they had any symptom)

when you want to go on holiday

because you company is making you take one...

because you are self-employed and need to reassure your clients

Possibly. We're travelling to visit relatives next week. They all "have a cold".
It'll be 10 days by the time we get there from when they got this "cold" or I'd be refusing to go!
