AIBU to be furious at how long it takes to get a refund?

I love the convenience of online shopping but am noticing that retailers are taking longer and longer to give refunds on stuff I return. (I usually order clothes in 2 sizes due to the vagaries of manufacture).

I’ve been waiting for refunds from 2 places since the end of June. One of them even made me pay to return the stuff!

You're ordering things you don't intend to keep. The expense should be on you. Just order one and most of the time you won't have this issue.

And when the one item you’re allowed to buy in this scenario doesn’t fit?

Then I would send it back, but then I'm doing that less than 1 in 10 times of ordering rather than every time.

You know what would help? Websites could show models of all sizes (I know, it's expensive) but I'm sure I'm not alone in seeing a dress, displayed on model, size 8 wearing a small; but it looks completely different on me, size 14, who orders a large.

@ginoginellizzz

Companies that offer free returns are just hiding the price in the cost of the goods. You're essentially getting a lower quality product for a higher price as they are just absorbing into their margin. Those who don't offer free returns, you get better visibility of the true price of the item.
What a load of utter bollocks

I’ve just returned 2 things to Wolf and Badger. Free returns, high quality items.

Well, it's not. Postage has to be paid for somehow; if it's "free" then companies will (or should) just build it into the cost of the item.

Of course but it’s not as simple an equation as the poster suggested which is why I said that was bollocks.
