AIBU to enlighten my new neighbour?

I have a new neighbour, she seems lovely but we have only said hello in the passing due to covid and the fact that I have been working from home and only leave the house to take the dog out and have enjoyed becoming a hermit, buuuuut, She appears to have left her washing out overnight and it's been DARKED ON!!!!

Should I pop a note through her door to let her know the grievous mistake she has made so she may never do it again? I mean spiders will definitely have rubbed their willies on the washing overnight!!

I was thinking of ,

"Dear neighbour, I don't think you know the "rules", your washing has been darked on and spider Willie's will have been rubbed on your clothes, please rewash or burn them immediately, with love from the neighbour next door who you never see and you must worry if she's been eaten by Rottweilers "

Good enough?

Dear God, she's letting the entire neighbourhood down. The next thing you know she'll be telling you that she uses a toilet brush!!

Righ OP. You'll have to use your covert ops training and ninja into her bathroom to check the toilet brush status

You're all mad with the darking on. You can whiten linens in moonlight and last night was lovely and bright. She's just being eco friendly Grin

Mydogisagentleman · 21/07/2021 12:38

I can’t believe it, she’s done it again (unless it’s a different load). No wonder the house next door hasn’t sold.
It’s had a board outside for three days now. All the others (2) have been SSTC within 24 hours.
Liam and Michelle must hate her for bringing the neighbourhood down

Not wanting to add to the distress of spider willies wiping on the clothing left out to dry, but I recently discovered (during a bout of extreme boredom while ill and Googling ridiculous questions) that spiders poo through their skin, so spider willies suddenly seem less upsetting Shock

I think that is worse, willies and pooing skin.

@FedUpAtHomeTroels

I noticed early this morning next door had left hers out. First thing I thought was, Oh the spider willy's, poor woman.
It' ok. I made my peace with spider willys.
Mumdiva99 · 21/07/2021 17:06

I'm an avid MNer.....but please can I confess my sin. A few days ago I deliberately put a load out (whispers very quietly) in the evening.

I knew it would be darked on.....but.....I was willing to take my chance against the spiders. My dCats have eaten most of them this summer.

MaMelon · 21/07/2021 17:07

Have you not presented her with The Mumsnet Rule Book for Ladies for Virtue yet? Shock

You are a bad, neighbour. How is she to learn about spiders willies otherwise? Sad

MaMelon · 21/07/2021 17:08

Ladies of Virtue obvs

Proudboomer · 21/07/2021 17:25

I can’t believe you actually spoke to her. I hope you at least sent her an email or phoned first.

trotpot · 21/07/2021 17:32

I hang my washing out just before bed and it's been dry by morning Grin
Although a spider did crawl out of something this morning
Karma perhaps? Wink

Isn't this where the OP should report to the Council or phone 101?

@VeganVeal

Biscuit
A little light relief is recommended now and again. Perhaps some meat in your sandwich may help.
birdglasspen · 21/07/2021 17:48

I'm so confused, is this serious, I leave my washing out if it's nice the next day and I'm to tired to bring it in, an insect could crawl over it in the house too? Humans used to live in caves....

You're absolutely right - I was being far too cautious. This calls for serious action OP

Aw hun. Totally serious. Darked on is totally a proper word too. Did you not learn this in Home Ec? Hmm
Mustreadabook · 21/07/2021 18:28

Do spiders only have willies at night?

MaMelon · 21/07/2021 18:31

You betcha it’s serious. It really doesn’t get more serious on MN.

foxandbee · 21/07/2021 18:44

I bet she has a washing up bowl too, the filthy slattern.

tillytoodles1 · 21/07/2021 18:50

My neighbour's washing has been out for about two months now. I think he's in hospital, but I've never met him so I can't take it in.

2bazookas · 21/07/2021 19:23

No need to alarm her. Just creep out at night with a little fibre pen and draw a few spider willies on her sheets.

2bazookas · 21/07/2021 19:28

@Mustreadabook

Be kind. They are transpiders who haven't had bottom surgery yet.
toomuchfaster · 21/07/2021 19:39

My new neighbours leaves her washing out for days at a time, even if it rains! It is never re-washed either? It must be covered in spider willies, rain dirt and darkness! I am very tempted to scale the fence and get it in for her!!
