Loved this. Got better as it goes along. Anyone seen it?

I was going to say I think I've read they are her natural lips. I find it uncomfortable when people slate her for her own face.
Also I love good girls but it's just been cancelled unresolved so be warned lol

EmeraldShamrock · 18/07/2021 14:17

I find it uncomfortable when people slate her for her own face. Me too. It could be a harelip. It hasn't affected her acting skills or appearance. She is gorgeous.

BobVance · 18/07/2021 14:26

I can’t believe I’m reading comments judging a woman and the show she both wrote and stars in, by her mouth? Jesus wept, give me a break.

Great show.

If you can be bothered a quick Google makes it very clear they are the result of a botched procedure. I think it's ok to question why such a talented actress/ writer felt the need to alter her face to live up to our ideal of bee stung lips. I think everyone should question that personally.

Does it? My "quick google" came up with opposite.

Also why does this matter?

jusdepamplemousse · 18/07/2021 14:57

So depressing to read the comments on here about lead character’s appearance. She’s amazingly talented, and highly entertaining and watchable. But no, let’s tear into her for a perceived physical imperfection. Such a crap, reductive, superficial attitude. Honestly makes me want to scream into a pillow!

jusdepamplemousse · 18/07/2021 14:59

Also, the show is hilarious and brilliant. Yes, the houses and sex are pretty unrealistic but the houses are lovely to look at and I think the sex is normally used to set up a laugh, and also it’s pretty female led which is refreshing.

Katefoster · 18/07/2021 15:05

I love her lips they add a lot of character to her face. She's a gorgeous woman. Her dad has very similar shaped lips

HelenHywater · 18/07/2021 15:08

I really like the show. Watched it in lockdown and really pleased the new series is here.

I really like the main character and her clothes. And in fact she wrote it too. (I think her face is all natural isn't it? She's a really beautiful, talented woman).

thecatsmum12346 · 18/07/2021 15:10

Yes it’s really good as well. Love it

Exactly. Not really the girl power engendered by the show.

I love this show anyway. A billion times better than Motherland. Binge watched the first series last year, and the second one recently.

thecatsmum12346 · 18/07/2021 15:27

The Deceived is also very good. Meant to be set in Cambridge and Donegal but it’s actually Queens university in Belfast and a house just up the road from me in Doagh, County Antrim. Lots of movies being shot here as there is some tax benefit from making movies in Northern Ireland. Heavens didn’t Liam Neeson cross a busy road in front of my friend the other day. And Hugh Grant was spotted in Carrickfergus last week. They are making some sort of follow up to the Game of Thrones here!!!

It was ok in the beginning but it just got a bit weird as it went on.

Hey is the letdown on Netflix? Thanks for the recommendations

Loved the first couple of series of working moms, then came the series where she’s having sex with a guy and breastfeeding him at the same time and I noped it out of there! Just got a bit weird and high strung and can’t go back.

The let down is good, on Netflix. And “trying” on Apple TV is totally charming and funny too

EmeraldShamrock · 19/07/2021 01:07

My only dislike with these shows is the constant drinking wine it normalises it, if they were smoking weed or cigarettes the minute they hit home viewers would be shocked.
I think lots young adults/late teens watch these shows, same with dead to me and assume been a mum is all wine o clock.
I know it is for some mums.

HauteGirlSummer · 19/07/2021 01:37

Love the show but can't stand stand one of the mums. I think she's called Jenny, played by an Asian actress. Her character gets on my last nerve 🤣😭🤣🤣🤣 I guess she plays her well

EmeraldShamrock · 19/07/2021 01:48

Jenny's character is flaky she plays the sly snake well. Grin

Ratalie · 19/07/2021 02:11

I don't think the houses are particularly unrealistic, just Canadian. On average, Canadian houses are about 2.5 times the size of British ones.

Ihavehadenoughalready · 19/07/2021 02:38

I also can't stand the main character's weird lips/teeth.

I love Anne the therapy doctor/author character and her somewhat evil daughter story line.

Binge each season as it comes.

Ihavehadenoughalready · 19/07/2021 02:42

Agree with previous poster "Offspring" is hilarious.

Ratalie · 19/07/2021 02:56

Can't believe the teeth/lips comments are still coming. Very cruel.

CanofCant · 19/07/2021 03:42

Good Girls has been cancelled?! Sad

Given that it's a Canadian show, I think replacing wine with weed would actually be more realistic.
