There is always a lot of debate on mumsnet around age and babies so I wondered what the view of Deborah Warner was who just had her first baby at 62:

I think its bonkers to be honest but aibu?

@PartridgeFeather

Far better than the drug addicted abusive 30-something that some poor kid will get for a mother somewhere on the planet.

Humans eh.

Absolutely this ^^

I'll save my judging for other ridiculous scenarios to have a baby in rather than just age related ones.

"Four weeks ago, Warner’s partner, the singer Claire Egan, gave birth to a baby girl"

I thought it was pretty clear.

The article does initially say that 'Warner has been busy bringing a new life into the world' which for me would imply that she did so physically so I can understand the confusion.

It's no different to a man father a child in his sixties which isn't that unusual.

Personally I don't think its a great idea either way.

Better still neither. It’s not a race to the bottom.
