To think it can’t be this hard to find Mascarpone?!

Help please!
I’ve looked in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose in both cheese and cream sections and no joy. There’s never any staff to ask!
Any suggestions please to help my craving!!

All these supermarkets will stock it (usually in the cheese section) but there are a lot of product shortages at the moment due to Covid isolations and a shortage of deliveries from the continent. So perhaps that's why? Could you use cream cheese or clotted or sour cream instead?

Well I ordered ricotta last week on my delivery from Morrisons and got mascarpone as my substitute item. Not much use for spinach and ricotta parcels unfortunately.

Tesco's Mascarpone is £1 a tub, DH loves it.

I get it in Morrisons with the cheese.

I got some this very morning! Never struggled to find it but it’s not something I buy regularly, just for a pasta sauce recipe and tiramisu.

I usually find it at Tesco. That said, depending on what it’s for, you could opt for ricotta or a full fat creme fraiche.

Waitrose picker here . Mascapone is usually a shelf or two down from feta cheese and halloumi.

Look in Aldi or Lidl first, it's only 79 p instead of triple the price in Waitrose or m&s.

@ShowOfHands I get pudding rice from Tesco. They even have it in the little one near me, so should be in most big Tesco shops I'd expect.

Always in Tescos but literally the easiest thing in the world to make.

Waitrose definitely have pudding rice as I got some today!

I got some online from Sainsbury's last week!

Have two tubs in my fridge which I bought today on offer in Morrisons, cheese aisle with the forrin' cheeses like mozzarella. DH is making a lime cheesecake tomorrow

I'd try with the custard and canned fruit or other types of rice. I'd probably not expect it to be sold in Aldi.

But I may use risotto rice instead because we sometimes end up with half a dozen different types of rice and it gets a bit silly.
