you haven't got all in one waterproofs on that list!

@Dishwashersaurous

I’m really intrigued why anyone would think that they need more school shirts than days of the week
Because I don't have time to turn around washing midweek, and at shirts can get messy before leaving the house sometimes. Because sometimes weekends go pear shaped, and its useful to have a 6th day of uniform clean.

'Covid 19 guidelines have stated they mustn't be in school - they aren't easily disinfected. Our Head of Public health for the county stated this as did the NEU'

I'm not making the school policy. I'm simply telling you what it is at my DC's school.

It's was the policy before Covid.

It's still the policy now.

The only difference is they keep their pencil cases in a special bag on the back of their chair instead of on the table. Theory being they don't touch each others pencil cases.

But, they're backing to sharing resources within a bubble so I suppose pencil cases come under that?

Tip for shirts: rather than buy 6 in the right size, buy 3 in the right size, and then get a pack of the next size up. Most of the time you''ll be fine with three, even with a clean one every day, but the larger size will do in an emergency, and will then mean you're set up the next year.

Our school has lockers from reception upwards as keeps all the corridors tidy. Neighbouring school is the same and I've been in others too who have them.
@Peppallama - at my DD's school pencil cases are specifically banned due to Covid. They have their own school pencil case in their class provided by school. Interesting how differently schools do it.
They do need to keep the cases in school..my DDs.pencils all got blunt and I said she could bring them home and we could make sure they were all in good nick but school said no, not until half term/end of term!

Our school : polo shirts (we buy 4), sweatshirt (we buy 3),trousers (we buy 4), coat, 1 bag (I bought book bag one year, used as general bag), 1 PE t-shirt, 1 PE short. One pair trainers for PE. We aren't told how many to buy of anything, and the schools own coat and bags are not compulsory. Pencil cases aren't allowed- they use school stuff. PE bag not needed just now as they go in PE gear since pandemic, which also means joggers not shorts. This is a primary school.

At that age I bought
5 polo shirts
3 sweatshirts
5 trousers
3 shorts
1 PE top
1 PE shorts
1 Hoodie
1 jogging bottoms
1 plimsolls
1 trainers
1 zip up fleece
1 winter coat

After ds grew out of the coat I never bought another one, for what it cost I bought 2 coats in Next sale. Ds hated sweatshirts & preferred the zip up fleece so I only bought 1 sweatshirt for school photo day. I found it easiest to save all dirty uniform & wash it in 2 washes on a Friday night, his polo shirts were white & needed a shot of vanish & a bit of bleach in the hot wash to keep them white.

Dd does PE 2 days a week and is in PE uniform all day.

2 sets of PE kit (tshirt & shirts in summer and long sleeves and pants in winter plus white sneakers)
Shorts jacket
2 year around school jumpers
Pair of black lace up shoes

4 sets -summer uniform (dress, white short/long socks)
4 sets- winter uniform (stockings/navy socks, blouse, dress)

Mine have pencil cases provided by the school and they have to stay in school.

Twokitstwokats · 06/07/2021 07:14
