kitkatsky · 27/06/2021 16:07

Last year we bought our then 9yo DD a tent for Christmas. Plus other camping gear.

For her recent tenth birthday she asked for a phone and plants to have her own flower garden.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/06/2021 16:16

And she lived getting a clothes voucher from her grandparents to spend on whatever she liked.

Littlebluebird123 · 27/06/2021 16:19

I second Wicked Uncle. Really good for ideas if nothing else.

lazylump72 · 27/06/2021 16:19

something different perhaps is an experience red letter days are usually good (if they are back up and running due to covid)
my 9 yr old has been chocolate making and designing and had loads of fun

chocolateicecream · 27/06/2021 16:19

If she is crafty maybe a Polymer clay kit.

Saxineno · 27/06/2021 16:19

Anything from smiggle or Claire's if you're my daughter.

chocolateicecream · 27/06/2021 16:27

My girls always manage to spot things they like in flying tiger. They also really like crystals.

A nice throw for her bed?
Picture frames?
Something else nice for her bedroom?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/06/2021 16:32

Latch hook kit?

If she likes Harry Potter then the 20th anniversary (house colours) hardbacks are nice — you could buy her one each year for a bit.

At that age I'd have also liked Sylvanians or clothes for my Bear Factory teddy bear.

And some chocolate!

MisgenderedSwan · 27/06/2021 16:33

My 9yo is getting a skateboard, a fountain pen, sketch book and nice pencils, a 'how to draw characters' book, bean bag for her room a fluffy blanket, lush bath bombs, new books to read (depending on where she is at nearer the time) . Probably some other bits and pieces for her room.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 27/06/2021 16:38

Smuggle shite
Lush shite

FrankButchersDickieBow · 27/06/2021 16:38

Smiggle

WaltzForDebbie · 27/06/2021 16:40

Can't you keep a list of thing she mentions?Christmas is a long time away and her interests might change.

mibbelucieachwell · 27/06/2021 16:41

What's your budget?

quitecontrary123 · 27/06/2021 16:48

Skateboard or rollerboots

Concerned2021 · 27/06/2021 16:58

@WaltzForDebbie she will not mention a thing garunteed but her birthday is also approaching and have got her nothing.
I will Google some of the things mentioned and show her :)

Jewelry box was also a hit. Keeps chewing gum she thinks I don't know about a couple of necklaces and her special Pokemon cards in it Grin

Sh05 · 27/06/2021 17:29

For my nine year old neice I recently bought something's for her bedroom. She's at the age where she's growing out of her little girly room and is waiting to have it redone.
Books are also a good choice as are bath bombs

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/06/2021 17:43

What about an Instax instant camera? I've had one on a wish list for DD since seeing another kid using one at the zoo. It's basically a Polaroid camera, I think she'll enjoy the novelty of it.

suspiria777 · 27/06/2021 17:51

tarot cards
temporary tattoos
murder mysteries

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 27/06/2021 17:55

I’d wait until MUCH nearer the time, and then ask.
By say November she’ll very likely be mad for something completely different from what she’d like now.
